Apple gives you more display area that was previously the bezel. The notch! Apple makes the screen bigger but no notch…. Why the bezel!! It’s too big!!! 🤣 some people just love to complain.

In 10 years time your beloved PC will be running arm as well because of apple. Funniest part will be that it will be 4-5 years behind what offers back then. Sorry but it is game over when it comes to chipsets. You keep mocking them for the notch. You are playing apple's game actually, making everyone google their laptops, just like people did with the iphones. You think you are mocking apple, but apple is very happy for you to do so. Hell people and competition mocked them for the non removable batteries, the headphone jack, the lack of upgraded storage the packaging... and we all know how that went... but people just dont seem to learn a thing...

I can attest to them not being that sweat and water resistant. I've ruined two pairs by sweating in them a lot... But I run around 30 miles a week in them, often in the heat. Unsurprisingly, despite still being under warranty, Apple did not replace either pair.

As a developer i absolutely loathe it, too easy to touch the wrong button unless you're looking at the keyboard. Normally using an external keyboard, but a PITA when on the go.

I'm thinking of doing the same... or the M1 MBA. These are overkill and I hate that battery life of the M1 Pro, 6 hours less compared to the M1 MBP... crazy.

@@donvuong28 Me too. My 6 year old 27" iMac is still amazing (I even game on it with new AAA games) but time for something new. I knew they wouldn't announce it here as they don't announce those and the macbooks at the same time. Sadly I don't think that will come until next spring.

Yeah you don’t need the new MacBook pros, they’re targeted for pro level people and ppl who do very intensive work. The M1 MacBook Pro and air both 13 inch is more than enough for us average consumers

Unless they mean supporting MagSafe by adding magnets to the case, which the Pro's did not have. It wirelessly charged, but it didn't stick to it magnetically.

I believe it could charge with it but it didn't "snap" to align for charging.

The notch is only a problem when you make it one.

the height of the notch has to be as tall as a local dimming zone, otherwise it would mess up with backlit layout. It's so stupid.

@@Noaddedsalt01 Hi GoodGamer, That is a reasonable idea. It may be that because the top is so thin there is just not enough depth behind the screen for the cam hardware. They could have put a small bump in the aluminum cover where the cam is to provide the space. I guess they thought a big butt rectangular notch was less obtrusive than a slight bump in the cover. Personally, I would have preferred a small bump out than a black rectangle in the viewing area. But, what do I know?!

Before todays announcement about the AirPods 3rd generation..i was locked in on the AirPods Pro. Even almost ordered them a few days ago and decided to wait for todays apple event. Now I’m not sure which AirPods to get..the AirPods Pro or AirPods 3rd generation?? 🙃

What if there are many items on the menu bar? Will they automatically be placed to the right of the notch? (I guess so.) But what if I take an app full screen? What if some toolbar icons are covered by the notch? Will developers have to update their apps to make sure it works on the new MacBook Pros? I don‘t know, it kind of makes sense on a smartphone. But on a laptop? Just keep the screen rectangular …

The new ones they announced are only meant for those doing high intensive work in it. Like editors, graphic designers etc. that’s why they are expensive

Because they’re target for pro people. For average consumers the 13 inch MacBook Air and pro will do us all fine

I was honestly hoping for the 14” to be closer to 1800 but that mark is all what we’re expecting. If the performance is truly close to what they are saying which I’m guessing in certain workflows and Probably not quite in raw performance, this could still be worth the price for plenty. Not sure if I could make it worth it compared to a 13 inch pro… but it doesn’t mean that I still don’t want one 😂
