Octopus changes color, texture and shape. This cool octopus camouflage was seen in Zanzibar 2016. The Octopus is absolutely the master of camouflage and you see here one of the best octopus camouflage videos on KZfaq. What an amazing animal! Hi there, this octopus camouflage was really one of my best underwater encounters ever 🙂 It's so amazing to see how the octopus changing colors in fractions of a second. For myself : the master of camouflage, and for sure one of the most mysterious sea creatures. I just feel blessed every time I meet him 😊 If you're interested in the octopus I recommend you to wach the film "My Octopus Teacher" on Netflix. This is a "must see" for fans of the octopus!

Amazing. I did a night dive in Roatan in 2016 and came across an octopus about this same size. It changed colours instantaneously (in 1 second!) almost every time I pointed my torch light at him; mostly dark to bright white (likely b/c it was nightime). Never forget the few min I spent with it!

Am from Zanzibar and am happy to see this video. Yes octopus are very intelligent they know they are filmed that's why they are showing off. Also octopus can escape in a closed jar by attaching itself to the jar and twist its body. So this creature is very intelligent

WOW!!! Unbelievable, truly... Hard to believe that this is real... The octopus must be highly intelligent, because it was clearly aware of that it was being filmed and it wanted to show off.... Actually some scientists have said that it doesn't originate on earth, it's extraterrestrial... Nice clip !

I was diving in Okinawa, Japan in 1994 and was inked by one. I was luck to notice him moments before I came upon him. He then popped up and inked then was gone after it cleared.

Do they control the color change? Or is it something their body just does? If it’s him, how does he know to make the spots just right? And how does he know to make the shape of a rock in a certain spot on his body? This just fascinates me. It always has. They are beautiful.

@@DiveDiscover Dafür, dass es das erste Mal mit ner Go Pro war, ist es dir verdammt gut gelungen 😎 Auch die Qualität ist spitze! Mit Rotfilter? Oder wars nicht so tief? Meinen Octo hab ich in dem Moment nur kurz gefilmt. Dann hab ich ihm ohne Cam zugeschaut. Absolut faszinierend 😄

@@schnick73 Danke nochmals :))) Ich hatte von aller Anfang an mit Videoleuchte gefilmt also ohne Rotfilter in dem Fall. Den Oktopus natürlich auch mit Leuchte ;) Das war schon so auf 15-20m. Ich denke er war auch "neugierig" auf das Licht. Einen Rotfilter würde ich nur bis max. 15m wieder einsetzen. Die schlucken dann doch einiges an Licht weg. Ja, egal wo ich einen sehe da bleibe ich ;) Das kommuniziere ich auch vor einem TG mit den anderen Tauchern *lach*. Einfach fabelhafte und hochintelligente Lebewesen !

@@DiveDiscover Das kenne ich auch ;) Ein paar neugierige und fast handzahme Fledermausfische und ein Octopus unterm Boot. Wir sind einfach unterm Boot geblieben und haben uns lediglich im Radius von 5m bewegt 😄

@@schnick73 das ist es doch, weshalb wir alle tauchen gehen. Zumindest für mich ist das so :) Diese Momente die man in der freien Natur mit den Meeresbewohnern erleben kann sind einfach unbezahlbar ! Waren im Dezember auf den Malediven...ich bin 1h mit einer Schildkröte geschnorchelt. Es war einfach genial ! Wird noch ein bisschen dauern...werde es aber gekürzt hochladen ;)
