I’ve mastered odd-count and so happy I did! For anyone “afraid” of it...don’t be! I love these rings. Do you take your rings off every time you wash your hands? I have one that fell apart (using Fireline I believe). It was a “practice” piece but turned out ok. I never wore doing dishes, just general hand washing.

I am so happy you did too! I usually take them off just because I don't like the wet feeling under the rings after getting my hands wet, but haven't had a single one break on me yet under any other circumstances, fortunately, and I work with my hands a lot - not just beading, but other general stuff too! :)

Orchid and Opal Jewelry & Beads thank you. I will remake the ring. I, too, dislike the wet underneath it! I will make a different color this time. Hey, it’s just beads! Ripping it out is no biggie. Have you heard the term “frog stitch” or “frogging”? Rip-it, rip-it. Learned from a beading group I’m in on FB. 💋

Thanks, Gina, for the excellent close-up shots and explanation of the odd count peyote turn around. Love the green and blue colors of this ring. If you haven't seen this, may I suggest, for a different option for the odd count turn (no turn) around, check out Kelly Dale at "Off the Beaded Path" and her "Odd Count Peyote Column Earring" video. She uses a longer tail thread to hook the end bead, interesting. Anyway-thank you for your excellent video!!

As always you’re work and tutorials are gorgeous. I’m ok doing even count peyote after a lot of disasters then watched you video and it just clicked, never had a clue how to do odd count and whenever anyone else showed you how to do it, I just couldn’t get the hang of it. I had all ingredients required except my beads were just miyuki not delica and it’s worked perfectly, off out tomorrow to see if I can buy the delica beads, everyone is going to get a ring for next birthday and Xmas!!!

I am so glad that even count clicked with you, Lorraine! Once you get the hang of odd count, you'll see it's not bad at all. Just takes some repetition. Thanks so much for your comment!

Thanks for this video! This is what I needed to make the bracelet that my friend wants, in case it turns out to be odd number of rows as opposed to even! Cool! The green and purple are nice together, too! Keep ‘em coming!!!😉

Can this be made with round Miyuki beads?
@ORCHIDandOPAL
@ORCHIDandOPAL 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! It can, it's just that the beads won't fit together as snugly, like little bricks. There will be a little more space between each bead. Thanks for watching!
