The most dangerous lineup in War Thunder HAS to be Germany 5.7! With no shortage of menacing medium tanks, hulking great heavies and more SPAA than there are planes for minor nations... this is your one way ticket to victory at any rate!
In this video, I take a handful of my favourite German Tanks in War Thunder and a list of planes to help dispatch my enemies and just go crazy! Honestly, this is one of the most sure fire ways to squad up with friends and just grind away to earn silver lions easy!

I once did try to scout a tank in the open within 200m, nothing between he and me, not a bush and for some odd reason failed it. Next one I did, was behind a building, success. I just don't understand how this bullshit they call spotting works.

PaK Puma's got more punch because the PaK 40 anti-tank gun's cartridge is about 9 1/2 inches of angry propellant longer than the KwK 40 cartridge the Pz.IV uses. The PaK 40 round was too much schlong to be practical in the tank.

The turret space in a Panzer IV, or any tank for that matter, is limited; the Pak 40 (when recoiling) wouldn't fit. There was talk about placing the Pak 40s in Stugs, casemates -which don't have turret space issues-can always handle the bigger guns. A higher value on logistics and commonality, however, took priority over ballistic performance.

@@rollastudent Loss of performance wasn't that big. KwK 40 muzzle velocity was 740m/s (750m/s with L48 barrel), vs 790m/s for Pak 40 L46. They did pretty damn good job with downsizing.

2:40 - Basically when compared to the KwK 40 used on the Panzer IV's, the PaK 40 munition had a slightly bigger cartridge case, allowing for more charge to be used, so a higher shell velocity could be achieved.

Also when compared to the KwK40 of the IV F2 and G you may notice that they have L/43 guns and the PaK40 and the other KwK40s on the Panzer IVs are L/48 so they have a slightly longer barrel which results in slightly higher muzzle velocity and thus in a bit higher penetration but I don’t think/know if this is even modeled in the game rn. Haven’t played in a while

Gotta love how you go on about how 5.7 Germany is amazing, even pointing out things like the Panther and Tiger, but then never playing the tech tree ground vehicles ONCE. All this video was, was showing off the premium plane and a couple marketplace tanks that 99% of us will never be able to get.

rest of the team spawned Panther A and Tiger E and absolutely crushed the enemy. Panther A is a god tank, you don't even need the pak puma, the turreted 50mm is fantastic for side shotting everyone and racking up scout assists. 190 D13 gets a nice big bomb and the 5.3 Me410 will kill ground vehicles almost as well as the 335B2.

The issue is a lot of countries dont have 5.7s so theyre fighting with either 4.7 or 5.3

@@nicholasjohnson6205As an american main the 5.7 tech tree is so abysmal. Most if not all of the vehicles can’t even pen the german/ussr tanks yet both can just one shot me at any angle just about. It’s been the most frustrating battle rating so far

Definitely try the Pz Bfw VI after the update. My bug report worked, gave it 625hp instead of 530 it has now.

The lineup without these expensive high ticket items like the Pak Puma und the VFW is still nice, but by far not as dangerous. There just isn't a hard hitting scout in the lineup without the Puma available and the VFW is also pretty insane. I wish you would stop using these hundred of $ items that nobody can afford to give us a realistic impression of a lineup without any FOMO.

He said he wants new players to watch and learn something using 5.7 germany and what he actually does is using an overpowered 4.7 premium which is not available anymore for spawn camping. @@verarmterpolitiker Panther A is worth the extra 0.4BR imo. The extra traverse/speed over the 5.3 panther is so nice. Plus the waffenträger is so much nicer than the nashorn because of the turret.

The Pak Puma is a squad vehicle, just have to have friends to get it. the VFW was an event tank so you can likely earn it at another time. I wouldn't call these hundreds of dollars unless you are trying to buy the event tanks from the shop were they are inflated as hell.

You only played a light tank I’ll probably never have, and plane for first two rounds. I gave up before the second plane play through. Play the big dumb panther, tiger and their dumb big bro MAUS. Just play something i got and don’t play enough. Italy lineup has stolen my heart this past year.

The KwK40 on the PanzerIV is a version of the PaK40 (as found on the PaK Puma and the Marder III H in War Thunder) with a shortened breech and thus shorter rounds, so it could fit into the cramped turret of a Panzer IV that wasn't originally designed for such a long gun. As a field gun (but then mounted on some mobile platforms like the Marder), the PaK40 wasn't so constrained, so used a longer and higher velocity round because its massive breech didn't need to fit in an enclosed turret.

The difference between the Pak40 on the puma and panzer 4 is roughly. 1. The shells on the tank version are slightly shorter to allow for better handling in the crew. Apart from length differences between the 2 tank versions being L43 and L48 whilst the Pak puma is L46. The extra Pen I guess mostly just comes from the slightly longer round

Whenever I play 5.7 anything, I get fully up-tiered a large majority of the games. So I tend to play 6.3 and usually get lumped in with the 5.7s. Until the occasional uptier to 7.3 with centurions, atgms etc :_D.

@@ultravioletsus true but taking in mind the numbers of each tank built (6000~ and 1300~ respectively) and the panther being less reliable (48% panther < 53% tiger) we could say that for every 8 panthers that needed repairs they only had to repair 1 tiger. So what do you choose? Repair 8 panthers or a single tiger?

the pak on the puma was a higher velocity gun. the pak 40 was downsized to be put in the panzer IV the puma variant is the same size as the at gun

I also love england 4.0 ! Cromwell for the speed, M10 fore the fire power and sniping, Churchill fore close quarters and keeping a position. Plus air and anti-air. It works like a charm !

I believe (corrext me if wrong) that the puma is using a Pak40 (Panzerabwehrkanone 40) which is an anti tank gun commonly used by infantry it is a bit longer then the kwk (Kampfwagenkanone (means fighting vehicle cannon)) 40/L43 of the panzer 4 thus making the round go faster and having more penetration

Pak 40 in the Pak Puma as against the L48 in the Pz IV H. Marder III H has the same gun as does the new- ish half-track. Basically an anti tank gun strapped to a chassis rather than a dedicated gun designed for a tank. How realistic the extra pen is I don't know...

hei odd great content! can you do a full guide on episodes for the best lines up for at least the most played nations? i love to play americans but there is a bad line up after 3.7. I mean not bad but every tank does pretty much what the others do. No speed, nothing great, no possibility of variations in the gameplay. Let us know what you think about this! Cheers my guy!

I’m super surprised you didn’t call out top tier Russia and how overrun that is with blatantly overpowered vehicles. Germany has strong vehicles that perform as designed vs gaijin artificially buffing Russia with inaccurate missile characteristics on the KA50, the spam of Russia top tier premium and squadron vehicles, and them having the best CAS in the game. I played Germany, America, and Russia Ground and Air and while Germany is strong, nothing compares to top tier Russia.

Imo USA has the best CAS in game, at least it's the one I can use in a multipurpose role (anti fighter/ air support) without having to compromise on anything. I main Japan and while the planes are very nice in dogfighting they are not as versatile as US ones.

VFW is my favorite target when I'm playing CAS. Super annoying to take out when you're on the ground but it's basically an auto-kill from top down. Tell your planes about the free kill.
