JAPAN COMBO CHALLENGE - Chi Ha Long Gun & 40mm Cannon in War Thunder - OddBawZ

Күн бұрынIn this video I combine two challenges into one match. Try to get 3 kills with the Chi Ha Long Gun and then attempt to shoot down an enemy plane with the 40mm cannons on the Ki-44-II otsu!
I'll be revisiting the Chi-Ha Long Gun at some point when it's spaded to attempt 5 kills with it in Realistic Battles. Today, the whole plan was to just go have some fun and enjoy myself in a couple of Japanese vehicles.
The Chi-Ha Long Gun is one of the latest additions to War Thunder. It's got a 120mm Naval Cannon and sits at 2.7 Battle Rating. It's completely open top making it super vulnerable to literally everything it fights. However, it does have a very powerful gun for its BR, but it too has some drawbacks.
The Ki-44-II otsu has a couple of very unique cannons. The 40mm guns are practically grenade launchers. Not only do they hit like grenades, they also have the flight characteristics of them. They are very slow velocity, highly inaccurate and drop like a stone. Not only that, you only have 20 rounds total!

Have you seen the actual size of a 40 mm cannon round lol? Go to google images and compare it to a .50 cal bullet. You will blow your mind lol

probably cus that's what they're closest too. the 40mm on the ki-44-ii otsu is has the propellant in a chamber attached to the projectile, so it's more like a rocket than a bullet. Russian underbarrel grenades operate the same way,

The american Mk 19 40mm grenade launcher has a muzzle velocity of 240 m/s. It literally is lobbing grenades at the enemy 😅

Just an added note for future Low tier Japanese challenge, the Ki-45 has a cannon that can be used for ground pounding... If you don't mind a 1 round a min fire rate. If you hold the trigger for to long it overheats or jams instantly. The penetration isn't to bad , but you will only get one round off every pass on a target. Good luck.

Amazing, Japan is truly great. I have a suggestion for planes,but you don't have to do it. 2 really fun planes I like to do is the 2.0 J1N1 and the 2.3 Ki-45 otsu, the J1N1 has quad remote controlled 7.7mm turrets, while the Otsu has a 37mm gun that can pen up to 42mm.

The Sho-Ki is hilarious. It's such a joy to fly but the guns are, the guns are, ah... well, it's got them 50's at least. The longboi is fun too, but I've never had as much fun with it as you did doing the sneaky reload.

@@kainedemigod101 the l3 is probably one of the scariest lol. 20mm that fires fast is low to the ground (hard to hit bc small and gun depression) is speedy, no armor is best armor, etc.

Anyone know how to turn on American subtitles? Some of it I can figure out from context, like I learned that "gut noose" means "good news" and "shoo-ah" means "shoot at".

When I was having a bit of 6.7 sweden and when I was using the ikv 91 and one of my teammates in an fw190 dropped a bomb in me because the had to fight a p51 that they died to anyways

When I used that gun it seemed to bounce a lot of shells. Even from the sides at times. Even with the equivalent of a ship's turret as a gun. The dam thing looked like a killer but it just let me down.

I had an insane game in the Chi-Ha LG on that snow map, can't think of the name of the map right now. The one with the tunnel on the hill (boomer brain lol). I got 8 kills for 10 shots. Was legit awesome and it's one of my favourite low tier vehicles. Put it in a line up with the Ho-Ri and Ta-Se.... you've got good times a coming.

Yo odd with those 40mm the best approach is top down/ widest surface of the enemy and get really close at almost ramming distance

I point blank shot a crusader II 5 times at not even 10m distance with the Italian capped APHE reserve round on the flat front armour, bounced each one, 0 angle, never screamed at a game like I did then.

In fact, those 40mm rounds are technically rocket propelled round. that’s why it has weird velocity and trajectory.

Odd you should try the stuh 42 g at 3.0 it has low pen but devastating aphe and high pen but low damage heat rounds

Yo odd, could you do a crusader 3 upteir video, put it with something like a comet or a cent, cuz I tried it due to lack of a lineup, and even I got a fairly decent number of kills.

I use Crusader III with either comet or Churchill mk7. Its pretty darn good for a light tank. Lots of shells overpen the weak armor, and it reloads faster than german 75-88mm's

Is the 40mm in the wing and your plan is to get close before shooting, i suggest lowering your convergance from 800m. Just like on the spitfire, i like to put my convergence at around 300-400 meters.

Now either way, they likely will never lower the repair prices for the mid-high tier vehicles because it is another way to make money. This makes fun vehicles unplayable unless you are have the money, or of course, you payed. Just like the the designers of the RBMK reactors at Chernobyl, they are willing to sacrifice critical things for more money. And this marketing strategy can be blamed for most issues in this game.

I have that plane. A short burst from the 40mm will blow a bomber in half easy. Can only kill maybe 3 if you are lucky.
