You cannot believe how glad I am to finally find someone who actually gives this game the recognition it deserves! Like, it still baffles me how Lego City Undercover has basically been completely forgotten despite being arguably one of Tt's most extensive games.

Wow, the one with the doctors shocked me. One thing I never understood: On the cherry tree hills rooftops, there is a tennis court, where two dudes are playing. When you enter the court, both of them will start running away from you performing parkour moves, which is weird enough, but even weirder is that the game treats them as escaping enemys. You can catch and arrest them, as long they are on the rooftop. They'll slide down a rope and once they touch the streets, they are normal npcs. A few fun facts I noticed during my time with the game: -Enemys cant swim. They'll just die once they touch deeper water. -The Police Disguise "Doorlock Holmes" uses a magnifying glass instead of the police communicator when looking for footsteps. -The default purple colour in the colour gun is only used once in the game to paint a tent in Bluebell National Park. Otherwise its useless.

Woah, never noticed that the NPCs actually throw away trash and stuff like that. Amazing stuff! Can't wait for Part 2!

Damn, in all the years I have played this game, I would have never thought to stop and observe the pedestrians, and notice all their unique animations!

Those details just show how much passion they gave into Undercover's development.

I just noticed a detail: in the Fort Meadows Station, there is a departures board with the name of different cities in Europe. Its quite strange because Lego City has more to happen in the USA. But the incredible thing is that there is also the city of "Billund", which is the Danish city where Lego was created! It's definitely one of the best details in the game.

This is just the greatest LEGO game of all time! So glad to see this much appreciation for this absolute classic. I bought it back in the day for the Wii U and I also have the PS4 remastered version.

Easily the most underrated game of all time, great to see it get some appreciation. I've said it before and I'll say it a million more times - this game deserves a sequel. there's so much humour, personality and references to the point that you will miss like 75% of them even after your first playthrough. I don't know exactly what they could do for a sequel, although what I do know is that there's certainly still material to work with.

I think the reason why the npc's are chase clones is to explain why his disguises are so good, he looks like a person who works there

2:20 i think the more likely answer is that they wanted to keep the unlockables consistent between releases of the 2017 release so they didnt include the mario hat red brick only for the switch version interestingly though is that the files for the hat do still exist in the 2017 release

The taxi cab stripe could have possibly been an issue with Checker Cabs, and they just didn't want anything to happen, as this vehicle looks heavily inspired by it.

Did you know the sherlock holmes policeman outfit will use a magnifying glasses instead of the datapad when scanning thing. I remember being so shocked the first time I discovered this.

When you enter the passenger seat of a NPC-driven taxi and you create a waypoint, the taxi will follow the route to your waypoint.

Fun fact: There's some unused text inside the .csv spreadsheet that mentions a scrapped version of the intro involving Bluffbeard crashing into the LCU logo that appears in front of the ship. This even gets brought up later on in seperate unused dialogue from when you wait near Bluffbeard before you rebuild his ferry (as well as a couple of funny lines that might've been removed for not being child-friendly enough, but I can't remember what they were now).

I was genuinely blown away at all the animations the characters have - and they're all very high quality too!

Right now I'm replaying this game for the third time. I noticed that you can actually jump on the boom of a firetruck and lift it up while the NPC keeps moving. I think that because of this, the truck may get stuck in one of the tunnels. By the way, looking forward to the second part of the video, you did a great job!

Know what also is 1 of the funniest voice lines Chase has? In mission 3 on the diving board before the freefall section, he says alot of things, such as counting down and thinking if theres another way down and lets not forget: if you manage to land Chase perfectly with the parachute afterwards he also has something to say about that

With all the mysteries and challenges this game holds, replaying it over and over through the years and knowing about these is a real treat and cementing this as my favorite Lego game for how massive it is in terms of content

Almost ten years ago, I recall playing Lego City one evening and getting scared. I was purchasing characters, and a particular character I cane across was the Mime. When you buy him, theres an animation of him walking towards the camera and bumping on an invisible wall. After I bought him, I was promptly jumpscared by him 😂

I think what gives lego city its charm is that you cant just fly everywhere, you have to rely exclusively on platforming to go anywhere in the game Yes you can fly, but you cant just jump out of your vehicle anywhere like in lego marvel Yes this makes completing it longer but also more interesting except when you dont know where platforming starts

So I have many facts here so get ready. 1. The police SUV (Rhino)Is actually based off and actual car from the forest police station, but the the one In undercover has the color scheme has been changed to look more white, and in the bell pepper emerald mission, the police Rhino's you can explode the look like LOD models not having writing on them. 2. In the mission where you break out Moe Deluca, chuck has a grapple gun but he never uses it. 3. in the first bank robbery mission where you chase the clown, in the cutscene chase's car is the original police car (Squady) but when you get in the chase he has the 2017 car. So there you go and just a question but what is your favorite polcie outfit for Chase, let me know and I'm super excited for part 2. Edit, Just have another fact I for got to include but, the police npc's have been updated to there 2017 versions instead of the 2011 look but some police npc's still have the old 2011 outfit.

I’m currently doing a 100% challenge where I complete every game in chronological order. I’ve played most of the early games, as they were a big part of my childhood, but I genuinely cannot wait to get to Lego city undercover. It’s such an amazing game, and while I think the tutorial part of the game is slow and boring, everything from the first level onwards is some of the best gameplay ever.

Something else i love is the sheer amount of different ambient sound tracks used in the game. There's like 100 of them and someone actually uploaded them to the internet archive. That said, the uploaded tracks might have been edited for length...

I also noticed that the trains don't stop at Fort Meadows, even if you have the station built, only if you request a train via the terminal. It's also really weird if you drive a train and then exit it, it will continue driving without a driver. And I love the detail in the Fort Meadows station, it's amazing how the sliding door opens when you come close to it, so unnecessary but details like that make the game great. The station also resembles the lego set 7937, it's only a little bigger and green instead of red. Also do you have problems with your game crashing on the Steam version? Mine crashes all the time and I don't know how to fix it.

I remember playing the og Danish version at a con with a friend, and a random civilian would begin saying names of different colours in the lego palette it sounded really jarringly robotic/ artificial ..it seemed to just happen randomly, my friend had triggered it before but never was able to figure out how and during the con i did it once despite us trying to go back from previous save and do the exact same thing it didn't trigger the dialog again

In the Wii U version of the game, you can find a ton of Super Mario Bros references. These include, but are not limited to: Green Pipes, a Wild Wiggler, Bulletbills and Bob-ombs, ? Blocks, buildable power stars, a green pipe to the lego lady liberty island, and finally, a Red Brick that gives you Mario's cap.

Fun Fact: The Lego Movie 2 Videogame actually has a building mechanic similar to super builds. It's still called "Super Builds" but the super bricks are called "Master Bricks" since both of the Lego Movies have the concept of "Master Building". I don't know why the names are inconsistent but... The differences are that there isn't a specific place where the build has to go, besides the specific worlds of course, and you have to get enough bricks of a certain color or more to build the Master Build. You collect these builds as you go but you can also buy the builds in the form of Lego sets. It's a shame that the original Lego Movie Videogame didn't have these mechanics. (If I got anything wrong, please correct me in the replies)

Heres another oddity, in the bluebell mine you’re supposed to be trying to find Stinky Fletcher but yet in the main room when you enter they’ll all clones of him, check it out yourself! Super weird when they have other miners they can replace them with.

you don't need to mod the run speed or use attract studs to get the blue stud at the fire station. I got it by doing some jetpack maneuvers around the side and using the drop in/warp to player clip to get into the area with the stud

The newspaper of the new truck exists as an actual sticker piece from a train station set (the same one the fort meadows station is, although for some reason in game it is green, while the real set is red)

I also discovered the fire station blue coin and the bridge climb thing upon my first play through (which was this year!) You can actually grab the blue coin if you use the 2 player car clip glitch (idk the proper name) to where you can phase your other player through the fence. If you also manage to get the farmer early, you can fly over the bridge once you climb it. Something else that I noticed is that even when the bridge is up, and you use the scanner, scanner mode will show the bridge as down instead of up, and this is the same for other things like the serenity bridge, will shows up on the scanner despite you not having built it.

2:28 my guess is that they didn't want to go through the effort to make a red brick unique to each console or just create a brand new brick which adds a hat or something to Chase McCain, so they replaced it with the helicopter. tbh I think they should have at least made it a red brick which changes the visuals to match that of the OG game including the outfits and the lighting, shading, and everything (Except the Mario easter eggs)

You can use the grapple gun to get to higher places without using the police disguise. The disguise will then climb up the rope!

Nice video ! I’m only doing for the first time the 100% of the game this summer. Coming back 6 years later after I played it for the first time proves the developers had fun doing it and is was not made quickly just for money like the worst game with Gollum this year xD

Also if you anwser this comment what tools did you use to open files such as .tex, .Pack, .FMV and .Cd

Some cool details. I actually own that yellow semi tractor trailer. I'm a truck driver IRL so that was a must for me. The Agents detail makes me happy because when I play the 3DS version I like to imagine it's a sperate timeline from the console game. So after beating the story mode I imagine Chase was intercepted and recruited by the Agents organization. Chase's new police outfit is the Magician's tux with his criminal face print but normal hair. Since the game established that mask is pretty effective, he is now known as "Agent Chase: International Man of Mystery." Also since you find that robot token on Apollo Island I think of that as Agent Chase's helper who goes to the police precinct to take care of buying things for him.
