Maybe same issue as me? The fact that we never got proper ifrit vs Odin bossfight which was something I hoped since I saw his Odin form. We only fought Barnabas :(

Do a one with Batman, you take parts of dark knight and the Batman, take moment of glory, then moments when Bruce Wayne realize he is nothing, just a "clown of society", (parallels with the joker), moments when people wants him to get out of Gotham treated like a monster (such as kratos) then show light, Batman as a source of hope for the humanity, he is the real hero with the Justice league, his work against Superman and against all of Darkseid.

This video is amazing and far more than this character deserves. I swear, if you cut him from the game, the plot loses next to nothing. Benedikta would have been better as the sole leader of Waloed.

I think what they were going for was a character that mirrored Clive, someone who might’ve been like him once, heroic and leading towards people. But instead as he got older he grew tired and depressive in a constant state of pointless warding and warfare and instead sought true salvation for himself and his people. Of course none of this actually applies to Barnabas in game, oh he was actually born into a cult that worships ultima oooh, let’s just have him be the shitty exposition dump villain except he literally has nothing to say but we’ll make him say it THREE TIMES OVER BECAUSE WHY NOT Like I shit on this games writing universally, but I don’t think they dropped the ball harder then with Barnabas’s character.

I agree, actually loving the game, FFIX was my favorite growing up. But the whole game I've felt Barnabas to be lacking. I liked the with him but mainly for Clives growth. Maybe it would've hit me harder if I felt more like Barnabas was a true leading villain. I preferred the Titan guy despite him being a predictable brutish arsehole
