First you have to understand why Tony even attacked Odin. With all of Odin's power, Tony asked Odin why he didn't stop this, this massacre of hundreds to thousands of people turning to stone, and to which Odin just comes up and shows him how small he is to the grand scale of everything, in how small he is to the universe. He may be the futurist of mankind, he may be the one who steps forward to advance the technology man has to offer, technology he offers yet he's just a man. Thing is, Tony is smart and this is why Odin showed it to him, because Tony is able to comprehend it and can understand what Odin is telling him, what he's showing him. That he's but a tiny speck of dust in the world that is the universe, but Odin and Tony are both men in their own right. Odin sends off the dead in a Funeral Pyre, in fact he's preparing to send someone dead who's dear to him, his own son. Tony doesn't want to be there because it reminds him of what happened to the people that were casualties in this war and is trying to find a way to fix it yet only to fail, he doesn't know how to deal with magic. They both mourn and they fight, Odin then up and disenchants Tony's armor and returns the petrified people back to normal to show him, that even if he didn't have the power to stop things, he at least has the power to fix things. Then leaves Tony to his lonesome to ruminate on the matter and what he's comprehended, humbled.

If a god or highly advanced life form came to us and tried explaining how insignificant we are we could at least grasp that and understand to a point of what they are trying to tell us. Awesome song collab with the video (Edit) It is scary how Odin, a god. Thinks with almost the same ideals, pragmatism and fatalism as Thanos. Meaning they both see everyone and everything as meaningless in the grand scheme of the cosmic universe.... Very telling of cosmic "morals" and "ideals". He then finishes with the gutwrenching line "who would ever believe you". Here stands a god. Able to stop killings, rapes, sufferings. Even the death of his own son..... Instead, he chooses to stand idle since individuals. Bad or good.... are inconsequential in the cosmic rule of nature. This was underlyingly dark, very dark...

The problem with their philosophy is that meaning does not come from scope. The universe could be infinite but it doesn't change the fact that your life is meaningful. Because meaning comes from taking on responsibility, especially taking on the responsibility of living out your life. So one could say that life itself and meaning are actually closely tied.

Or adam warlock, or alternate realities, or galactus, or celestials, etc. It would make more sense to say, "No matter how far you go, you'll always be insignificant." For example, wolverine and Peter Parker shouldn't even be Christians. The mere presence of Thor Loki, Hercules, etc., would already put not only Tony, but the entire world into seeing the perspective of how insignificant their beliefs and lives are in comparison to actual living gods, who would make all other religions question themselves. I mean, how would you feel seeing a gigantic man in purple looking down on you?

Being and feeling small is not necessarily a bad thing. Think of small ants crawling under human feet; now think of humans walking beneath gods; now think of gods walking beneath universal forces and you will begin to understand the smallness of each category of beings. That is one of many ways of understanding it. Knowing weaknesses and acknowledging vulnerabilities is what makes someone truly strong. Growing through your failures and embracing your weaknesses are signs of true strength. In knowing them, you will gain wisdom and strength. Only you can make yourself special as no one can do it for you and once you recognize it, you will never doubt yourself again. Call me an idealist but that is what I believe in.

Great Video man. ODIN is one of the most interesting and powerful marvel characters. Tho, he has never gotten very good dialogue written for him(comics wise, Anthony Hopkins is perfect) Sux how ODIN has been Nerfed and nigh-slandered by Marvel recently and specifically Jason Aaron's writing. Sometimes Aaron writes really good stuff tho.

When somebody gives you multiple chances to stand down, while you are threatening / attacking them... it's usually a good idea to listen?

Funny how people are mad at Odin. XD Odin doesn't have any obligation to help.

I will never always understand the ways of Odin. Then again, how could I understand the ways of a God. All I can do is believe pray and hope, have faith.

Holy fuck, I was expecting them do something dumb like usual and make tony stark hurt Odin or some shit but odin just shat on him.

This was great. Tony may be one of the brightest on earth, like Reed Richards or Hank Pym, but compared to someone like Odin or Zeus, these guys don’t stand a chance unless they steal something that can counter gods. Which leads me to question: shouldn’t Tony have a chance with the Destroyer armor? Honest question

Odin enchanted the Destroyer Armor so he would know its limitations and how to counter them..

Nope.

the destroyer armor is nothing compared to odin with the odin force... it would be like tony with mjolnir vs thor, thor is still a monster and only uses the equipment to boost his own power

Same with Zeus and Hulk, Zeus just took everything the hulk threw at him, and then just wiped the floor with him.

I like this it shows how strong odin is and he's able to take back uru metal. What I don't like in the new thor comics right now is thor just breaking uru metal like nothing these days just by punching because he has the Odin force(thor force) it breaks the feeling of cap's shield, wolverine claws,or black panther Vibranium equipment being special and almost invincible if thor just goes around destroying uru metal like a Tuesday as a stress reliever. Also it breaks the science vs magic idealogy to where magic can solve anything and science is useless except to other science.

Thor dented and destroyed Captain America’s shield when he had the Odinforce in the early 2000’s. Cul shattered Captain America’s shield in Fear Itself. Thor broke Mjolnir with the blow that killed Bor. Thor breaking uru is quite consistent.

Going off topic sort of. That’s why the actual real one true God should have so much meaning to all of you. But most of you believe in nothing or would rather believe in this? Or to believe what odin is saying is somehow deep and meaningful about us being nothing. See the universe is vast and there are many people on earth and have been many people and there will be still. And each one of us is unique and special and important to God. That is why everything should revolve around God. Music, television, etc and our daily lives and yes even these comics. That doesn’t mean every single sentence or every single song or script has to be about loving and praising the Lord. But there should never be anything that is anti-God either. Ever. Marvel borrows heavily upon Judeo Christian texts and I believe it may be blasphemous sometimes. They have every right to do whatever they wish but it is not right. Was this particular scene or comic wrong. I’m not saying it was just read what I said or ignore. Just one pro God comment out of all the comments. Do you really want to waste your time if you don’t believe on hating me? Or maybe you should Think about what I wrote. Anyway God bless and peace thanks for posting
