Ron, I installed these on my Wife's 2010 Prius today. Thank you so much for the Video. there is no way I could have installed these following just the printed directions. Toyota wanted over a $1,000 to install the fog lamps. I bought the OEM set, same as in your video for $69.00 online. Now, it took me the better part of a day to do this, but they are working just fine. There were 2 brown wires, so your video which said "light brown" was an important distinction. Hi Ron, Thanks for a very easy to listen to and watch video don't be too hard on yourself you don't have to be a mechanic to produce a video that was pleasant to listen to and easy to watch. My only criticism would be that you did not show the relay and the connections to it that are needed to make it work. I am an auto mechanic and I understand the purpose of the relay is to handle the heavy current drawn by the fog lights to go directly to the lights and not to the switch and then out to the lights. But still it would have been nice if the relay had been shown and what the various connections are to make it work. I don't have one of those relays in my hand and I don't know if each of the terminals is labeled as to where it goes or maybe some of the wires are permanently affixed to the circuit board of the relay, again I don't know. But I think as an addition to your video it would have been nice to shown the relay also where you mounted it. I installed one of these kits a number of years ago on my 2011 and was very happy with it but it seemed to me that the kit that I used actually had printed directions. It seems like all the kits that are available on eBay nowadays have everything except directions! I can't imagine anyone being so foolish as to think that your average Joe we'll be able to slap it into the car without having anything to follow and guide them. That's where your video came hsndy. in again it's a nice job thanks very much but I wish you had spoken more about the relay and shown it, rather than just mentioning it Thanks again.

Thanks for the great video. I'm installing a similar set that didn't come with instructions on my 2008 Prius. It's not exactly the same but your video at least gave me the confidence and guidance to get started on it.

Your entertainment was instructionally valuable and much preferred to the version posted by the Toyota Technician who "ripped" the whole front off the car to install the lights. The step to coat the power conductor with soapy water before pulling it through the grommet into the cabin was excellent advice and a film of dish detergent worked very well. The kit received fits my 2011 Prius perfectly. The only missing detail your video nor the instructions that came with the kit didn't provide is whether the lights can be adjusted for height/direction, and if so, how. Any input?

Can you just plug the fog light into the box and not do the fog light button, because when you said I needed to to cut the brown wire and bla bla bla I was a bit cautious. If I don’t do the fog light button stuff will the fog light just turn on when I start my car?

Hi I bought a kit and are the halogen lights good, because I want to buy led lights for it. The light bulb you have and the one that I bought (the light bulb that comes in the fog light kit) is H11 12v 55W but does a LED bulb that’s H11 12v 17W work?

although it works, something is wrong with the install. In most places, by law, factory fogs should go on ONLY when lows are on, AND turn OFF when highs come on. That is the point of drawing your relay trigger power to the "brown" wire in the dash. It is suppsed to tap into your low beam power through that connector so the fog relay can only be triggered when the low beams are receiving power. that wire goes dead when highs come on.

16:25 what is happening there? Where did the wires go? This is a crucial step! Most of the current kits being sold don't have the plug to fit into the fuse box, but are instead a positive metal ring. How do you hook that up? Direct onto the 12V battery? Or how can I convert it to a quick plug?

Nobody bothers to include a drive test. Your brain's still working - just saying ;)

I should also add that people often reroute the wiring to allow exactly what you have there even though it's not legal. ...just as many people rework the wiring so the lows and highs can be used simultaneously which is not possible on many newer cars with the factory light setup.

Ron, Where can I get the SAME kit and wiring harness you used? the kit I bought has a harness but it's not applicable to your directions, it is a generic, one size fits most harness. NOT specific to the Prius. I assume your harness came with your kit as shown. Years back I did an install on another 2011 and it had the identical harness that you have. This bleeding thing isn't the same and will take hours trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and a lot of blown fuses too I bet! Can you help? Thanks, J T

Hey Ron, does the fog light go off automatically if the car is turned off. Or do we have to run a relay? On my old car I run a relay so it would turn on and off along with the low beam

Fog light switch is upside down. The "beams" should always point toward the ground.
