I have had good success with aftermarket Carbs for both Lawnmowers and 2 Cycle equipment, typically the ones I have used have been made by HIPA mostly.

I use to work at a bacon factory. Everything ran through the exact same process, pickling, and liquid smoke. The only difference was in the packaging. 😆

In all honesty I've always used aftermarket parts, thankfully I haven't had any issues thus far with them. I think it's absolutely absurd to pay well over $200 when you can get the same exact thing for $20. It's crazy companies take advantage of customers like they do.

I thought sure you were going to say don’t buy aftermarket but I was wrong. I agree with you completely!! I’ve had very good success also. I only have had one that ever gave me a problem and the seller on eBay refunded no problem and I sent it back. Thanks I enjoy your videos!

I have had the same experience. I needed something ignition related for my old Honda 450 Foreman. I think it was just a condenser. I have already looked on Amazon, they were like $18. however, since I was taking my life in my hands for being in Houston and was passing right by a big Honda dealership, I was willing to pay a little extra for the convenience of having one in my hands, they wanted like $90! I said, no way! Thinking they were trying to rip me one, I stopped off at a different Honda dealership, they wanted like $135 and it take two weeks. I ordered the one from Amazon for $18, got it in about two days and it has been on there for years.

I’ve often thought in some cases, the same factory makes them all. They pack them in the green boxes Mon-Wed, and in the generic white boxes Thur-Sat. Who knows really?

90% of the time alot of different name brand things are made at the same plant and on the same line of the cheaper things. Only difference is packaging and labels

I bought the after market one off Amazon for the same cart. I had to drill out the main jet just a little bit with my needle drill bits. I had to do this to make the cart run smooth. Yes, it was a bit of trial and error but once I got the main jet drilled out to the same size as the main jet on the old carb things were good and it has been working flawlessly for 2 years now. Not paying $200-400 for a carb!

I agree Jeremy, the aftermarkets have improved over the years and I'm completely satisfied with them. Unless OEMs requested it's getting an aftermarket. 👍

The cheap one is a Chinese knock off. They rip off the logo too. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the cheap one. Many Japanese companies (Kawasaki) buy from china.

I have great success with the cheap ones! As a matter of fact some of the ones that i have used have an additional mix adjustment that the OE doesnt have.(no EPA in China???)

I only use the knockoffs on my customer repairs. I work on a lot of consumer grade equipment and customers are NOT going to pay for the OEM carburetor. Out of hundreds of carb swaps, I've only encountered a handful of defects requiring a warranty replacement.

I bought a Chinese Carb for my hedge trimmer, chainsaw 4 in one garden tool 2 stroke. Works a treat, no complaints. The postage for a UK one, was about the price of the product from China. We are people not mugs. How far can greed go ? I think on, no marketing costs or advertising, push out the greed prices of the parasites. But next week, the new parasites will be getting the push too. What a system. Humanity has to get a grip of it, unity is the only answer. Not predation.

The only reason to replace a carburetor is if something is mechanically wrong with it. The carburetor that comes with the unit from the factory can be cleaned with a little effort, new gaskets and o-rings installed and they are good as new.

I strongly suspect something fishy is going on at the dealers. I bet they’re selling aftermarket as OEM. As for me, even if only one out of 3 aftermarkets are good it’s still a lot cheaper than getting ripped off by a dealer.

You can buy chinese knock off batteries for Cannon camera's that look EXACTLY like the oem Cannon batteries! Right down to the packaging! Extremely hard to tell the difference between the two. Can that be the same with carburators?

i've bought a chinese Keihin PE26 counterfeit carburetor for my Kawasaki KLX150 for only $9 (about IDR 130.000)... And it works just fine with some proper tuning, just like the original Keihin PE26... The key to buy chinese counterfeit carburetor is to pay attention to the physical appearance... as long as it looks physically convincing compared to the original product, just buy it... of course because the price is much cheaper LMAO and yeah, there are some low quality chinese carburetor, just pay attention to it's detail before purchasing one..

After market will and does in fact do a helluva replica job. All the way down to the name brand. Guaranteed it is not genuine. Call the real manufacturer and ask them. They are NOT genuine and they are not quality built. Hell do this for proof. Weight them side by side. See what you get.

If you do happen to get a good one then that's fine but on the other hand if you have to spend 2-3 hrs. on a customers' mower trying to figure out why the aftermarket one is not working properly then it's a waste of time in my opinion! Especially when it's $20 hr. labor. Too many times I've seen these run on high speed but you can't make them idle or fine ''dust'' in the bowl, passages drilled wrong or not drilled at all! To me it's like a Toyota part.....put on the original and you don't look back, period! None of my friends here in N.C. use these on mowers or chainsaws! And here the old saying still applies ''You get what you pay for''. No thank you, not for me!
