I know this doesn't matter all that much for your current project, but when you need to cut a bunch of the same length boards (@18:05), don't measure and mark multiples because you are not accounting for the kerf (width) of the blade so some of your measures will be off. You're better off measuring and clamping a stop on your saw to push the boards up against.

Maybe you oughta do something like Modern Self Reliance? That crazy guy built like a carport to cover his saw mill... complete with man cave. I know you have other priorities... but that saw mill could benefit you for decades if you take good care of it. It might be worth the effort to get a cover over it somehow. Just a suggestion. I love your videos and that you are sharing your journey through this way of life with us.

The massive smile when you hung the two baskets. A huge sense of satisfaction. When the opportunity arises, improve the area around the tree stump, the retaining wall and the barn.

I think if you go with large metal panels on the house it may not look as good as the barn but the install will be so much faster it may be worth the sacrifice and it is definitely fire proof !!

I know you’re tired of that project, but it came out great. Definitely going to help having done the barn for one time comes to side the house.. Great looking barn, which does not really look like a barn. Well done the animals will love it and i am sure you will smile every time you see it. I love the colour of the siding, I think that is what makes it look so good and the different roof line. Nothing boring about this barn.

Looking very nice. One piece or 2 of Rebar, the full height of the F.G window and well secured on the ends should stop a Bear or other critters by adding strength and effectively reducing window width without blocking much light. Love your videos! Ron PTL USA

That center space that’s open on the taller part of the barn, you could build a um….hell what are the called….oh well it’s like a shuttle, but with ever other slat missing. You still get ventilation but keep birds, raccoons n other critters from getting in your barn. Just a thought. Excellent work, can’t wait to see the new homeowners move in.
