I think you needed to delay your voting count to not scare people off as well. I think this game, because of the 4 players, is a 100% timing game.

I think Vernius is the hardest and most interesting faction. So its entertaining seeing the Author suffer and/or succeed with it.

yeah, I wanted to purposefully not take it, but I agree, its so good.

I doubt they will expand to the wider Dune universe outside of Arrakis, so far the entire game takes place on northern Arrakis

Absolutely right, whenever there's a Vernius player in the game I always ask for a research agreement, they see the +2 knowledge and go for it, without considering how that +20% boost is going to in fact make me leech off their tech more effectictively. In the long run, whenever they cut you off their tech, you'll have reached a much higher tech level than normal, which is even better since the rest of the lobby doesn't think of doing this as well So, even if everyone is truced with Vernius, there's one faction getting much more from the truce than the others

Maybe governorship could be buffed to give some kind of military/defensive bonus. CHOAM gives you 15% more army power. But I don’t know enough about the game to make statements about which win cons are too strong or too weak.

You kindof need to sneak it in when someone else is already winning (lots of choam, or high heg), otherwise you just get ganged up on. In general you don't really want to show how much ahead of the pack you are because you just can't beat 3 other players lol. Gov is definitely the hardest wincon I think though, because getting enough influence to outvote 3 other factions is already quite difficult by itself.

That councilor could be made so much stronger if they made it so that you either got +4 knowledge for every district building (bringing the max bonus from 3 to 9 which still isn't crazy, but more defensible as a pick), or that every district bonus applied whenever you filled a district with three buildings. That way he'd be a more competitive pick against the usual 2

i, too, believe it' their best upgrade.

So he can blast through several techs all at a once. It’s especially good after you break treaties with everyone so you surprise them with a massive push they thought you were thirty minutes away from.

​@@brodiecooper4986isn't the whole idea to use imperical data before you pick em up? I dont think people generally have enough info on the enemy tech tree to be watching it the way you're describing.

@@_TheOldMan_ jeeez dude vernius can share tech with allies through treaties. You can see exactly what they already have, and plan around it if your allies with them. Otherwise it’s because you can build up a massive amount of research speed making those pickups worth 2-3 times as much. It’s definitely wierd though so I get the confusion.

I think they also have an armory upgrade that buffs drones in your army tho.

We really need some hero in this community who gets the numbers and does all the math so we know what is worth doing and what not

Or you just do it and Experiment around thier Army set ups…suboids are great in 8-10 Units even late game. But you need to avoid ae damage sources (skirmisher, grenadiers, Flame throwers and ofc turrets)
