No one with a decent boat should ever go to this marina.

It's a county/public boat ramp, usually these are either free or a very reduced price to launch, compared to a marina. In my personal experience, marinas tend to have employees helping out, grabbing ropes, guiding traffic, enforcing rules, etc. But I agree, if you can afford a big nice boat, it's worth the extra $10-$20 to launch at a private marina.

@@pkeeney I get that, and all your points are valid. But it’s not the place itself that bothers me ( I’m no snob, and I think the concept of public marinas is a good one; boating should be enjoyed by all). What bothers me is these folks are just bad boaters. It doesn’t cost much to read a book or two and maybe take a class.

I was wondering why some of the larger boats wouldnt just stay st the marina. It looks like a chore to launch them every use. If I had a boat that's what I would do. More time enjoying, less time moving it.

I was just commenting this. I’ve watched a few videos, and I’m glad I used to launch out of Blackpoint Marina. I’ve never seen so many bad boaters in one spot.

And the cars are guaranteed to be fuvked up. Beautiful cars with rims and tires do big the ride is nothing but bumps. And those old cars use to ride so nice. Cant change it but I can definitely sit back and laugh, and I do atleast once a day. I'll be driving down the road sometimes just laughing.

@@HaloHamstur they looked like they had plenty of time to launch, but was just eating shit. Maybe they were too busy gawking at the crew of the Yamaha charter. I would have immediately thrown some fenders on that side in case that towed boat hit on that side. It would have also blocked the jet skiers. Lesson of the day, get your craft in the water and clear the dock for others because there are boats coming and going.

Yes that's the yamaha 275, the only boat w/paddle shifters for approaching docks at very low speed, makes it easier to navigate tight areas, super clean boat starting at 131k fyi, thanks for the great videos👍

Why does every one assume the man is the captain? The women is clearly more experienced and showing knowledge of boat handling. I suspect she is a professional captain who runs the charter boat and he is the first mate/assistant.

I sold my boat because of drunk drivers and people not watching where they are going. Now I sit at the ramp and watch them launch their boats. It's far more fun than actually boating. You see truck, boat, and trailer all go in the water to people trying to back a boat trailer. It's so entertaining and free.

The jet boats have a hard time because they do not have a rudder. You have to be throttle up a bit to drive the vessel. Its the steam of water out the back and the direction you point it to drive the boat.

The reason jet boats are a different beast is that they are so reactive. You have to make your steering correction then quickly get the wheel back to center otherwise you will start fish tailing. Slower speed makes them harder to not want to over steer. Little fast corrections is best unless you are doing donuts..

I’ll tell you folks something you may not know. I recently bought a new Harris Tritoon here in Charlotte NC and when I insured it with Geico it came with TowBoatUS built-in to the policy. I didn’t even ask for it but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about it as I was signing the paperwork. I know I know Geico has a bad reputation for insurance companies but it is the cheapest I could find and it has TowBoatUS built-in. I thought that was pretty great. Heck I didn’t even know my local lake (Lake Wylie) had TowBoatUS until Geico told me. Lol 😆

It doesn’t matter if you launch in the same spot, you still have to adjust the fenders/bumpers depending on the tide.
