Everyone who passes the finish line gets the same medal, so the motivation for most is either run a faster time or qualify for the Boston marathon. I think most qualifying races have a minimum run time of 3 hours and. 30 minutes in order to qualify for Boston. If Ryan did that it would be incredible!
