Final part of Michael Landsberg's sit-down interview with Jim Ross.
In this video J.R. talks about Kurt Angle's health problems, how Stone Cold Steve Austin is dealing with life out of the ring, Trish Stratus as a wrestler, his cookbook and his love for football. Also would J.R. hire himself if he showed up on WWE's doorstep?
Hope you enjoy the videos.
Boomer Sooner!

J.R.'s honesty and integrity is unquestionable and unmatchable. Ross may not be telling the entire truth here due to the sensitive nature of his then-job (Senior VP of Talent Relations), but he's not a liar or a fudger.

The notion that JR is the best announcer ever is not automatic. I always really enjoyed Monsoon, Ventura and Heenan. JR is great but those others mentioned were awesome too in their own right. McMahon was a good announcer too.

not really my comment to begin with but, JR is the lovable commentator that a big wwe show wouldn't be the same without. think big show, who do you want to voicing it...Micheal Cole? Mike Tenay? Don West? Tony Shivoni? Taz? Todd Grisham? Nope, JR and the King Jerry Lawler...

You're stating a plain a simple fact that no one could reasonably argue with, however I don't think you can account for the amount of pride that he has as a performer. Some might bring up the big pay day he had for WrestleMania 19, but if he wasn't so driven to be acknowledged as the very best to lace up the boots, surely money couldn't compete with having a quality of life after wrestling.

I like Landsberg too, but I disagree with the notion that he "understands the business." I don't think he'd even agree with that statement. He's an outsider looking in just like the rest of us, and he wants to deliver the goods and get the most out of his interviewee. That's why he's bashed so much for dominating conversations - there's just so much to discuss and he's trying to cram as much content as possible into a relatively small window.

...the US it's healthier days financially were moral or sensible. Like how well WWII helped stimulate our economy and more or less turned the country around completely...Canada hasn't had many instances like that on such a grand scale, and hence, hasn't really dealt with the controversy the US has. Again, I don't think either is right or wrong, but that's my opinion on the difference. America is actually sort of like the WWF...great periods of success amidst less fortunate periods in time

let's be honest, it's not really fair to compare American and Canadian economics. Canada has certainly had it's good times, but hasn't quite "flourished" the way the US has in the past. The thing is, America is always fluxuating between boom periods and depressions (which vary in strength/severity), whereas Canada has always enjoyed a certain degree of stability. And it's not really fair to say either is right or wrong, unless you were debating whether or not the things that brought...

This Dr Youngblood has got to be the worst Doctor in history. He sent all these guys back with the following advice. Edge, he’s ok, good to go. Gets injured years later, goes back, doctor says you can’t wrestle anymore. A decade later, Edge sees a different doctor and has a procedure and is cleared and makes a major multi year, full time comeback. Chris Benoit was given a clean bill of health to return, everything in his brain looks fine. Need I say more about that one? We’d be here for hours talking about the insanity of that diagnosis. Stone Cold, almost paralyzed for good. Doctor says he’s good to go and should be fine. Three years later he’s having to retire early from crippling pain and injuries and right now he can’t even fully extend his arms because of his spine, and has never wrestled again, unlike most. Kurt Angle gets seen by this guy, and his diagnosis was specifically as JR just said, “Well, it and his limbs can’t get any worse.” Kurt comes back, wrestled for 10 more years and was only held together physically because of pain killers. Also, that whole “his limbs can’t get any worse” thing? Kurt’s arm is so atrophied it looks like something out of science fiction where his entire arm got aged 100 years into the future and he has what looks like zero muscularity in his biceps or triceps. Their other doctor in Alabama, Dr Andrews is probably the best sports injury surgeon and consultant on the planet during his time. He worked miracles on Hunter getting him back in 9 months from a quad injury where your whole quadricep muscle snaps and rolls all the way up your thigh. A 9 month recovery time that normally takes 12-16 months, on top of the kind of shape Hunter was in is basically a modern day miracle. Triple H came back in the Royal Rumble in the best physical shape of his life, he never looked better than he did that night. Go see for yourself. He did work on Vince when he tore BOTH quads simultaneously and within a year or so, Vince famously had some of the most insane pictures taken on the cover of Muscle and Fitness at the age of around 60. Obviously the quad thing with Nash is a meme, but he never tore it or had major issues with it again from 02’ or whenever it happened until this very day. Bottom line, whoever hired their orthopedic doctor deserves a medal. Whoever hired their neuro specialist and kept allowing these wrestlers to keep using him from failure after failure should be thrown in prison. If it’s the same guy who hired on both, they say genius and madness are two sides of the same coin. 😂
