Today is a social day for Izzy. We're off to Cardiff for the day, firstly to meet up with one of Izzy's friends for lunch and then off to a class afterwards. Imo has another opportunity to stroll around Cardiff centre. She grabs a bit of lunch and a coffee, laments the downfall of Thomas Cook and goes in pursuit of a maths book she has been recommended by a fellow home-educator friend (details below).

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Our resourcefulness is tested on a daily basis, but we'd love to share our little triumphs and discoveries with you as we go along.
Imo is a flautist/flutist (flute player), and these vlogs will often take you behind the scenes of the life of a professional folk musician. Stand by for bits and bobs of live folk music and dance as they pop up in our day-to-day lives.
These videos will not generally feature recorded background music, making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music!
Follow this channel for occasional tips on caring for eczema, content relating to the flute, travel (particularly to Lisbon, Portugal), homeschooling and homeschool mom stuff, folk musician lifestyle, and to see what life is like for this little family in our corner of South Wales in the UK.

Ooohhhh we do like a nice pasty and hot drink from Greggs! I’m also a fan of WHSmiths, not the place it used to be, but I’m always attracted to the books and magazines, such a geek!

Sculpture by Garth Evan's, it's been hidden in Leicestershire for a long time, last in Cardiff in the 70s, It's go do with South Wales mining history.... As yourself, a none driver, I prefer either, as long as they run on time.....I'm happy.

Even when I lived in Chicago, the trains were not all over so I had to use buses. Here it is walk bike or ride in a car, no public transportation the town is too small.

I very much prefer Rail Replacement bus to a train tbh the good thing is no tickets get checked. Some bus journeys are also fast and non stop.

It's such a shame about Thomas Cook. It was our only Travel Agent since the kids were small. E started using Next Cruise on the ships to book our cruises but anything else and we'll have to look elsewhere. Great interesting vlog

I totally prefer trains. My children's uncle is the engineer on the Amtrak Train I take from Portland to Seattle. I'm going to see if he will let me see the engineer drivers space.

Good golly you were right, not a soul on the bus. Kinda creepy. Also, there are seat belts on the bus!!! Why don't we have seat belts? Your sound always Sounds so good, what microphone do you use? Do you have Halloween over there? That is also a surprise.

You don't have seat belts? Ooh! I don't have an external mic input on my camera, unfortunately. I will eventually upgrade, but for now it's just the inbuilt camera on my Sony Handycam. You may notice I am always very close to the camera when speaking and that's why.

Well she's 18 now and at uni and did three years prior to that in a college, but she suffers from very severe, chronic eczema which was very difficult to manage. She stared school and left at age 6 in the November. She's doing absolutely great with her skin now, thanks to a medication which didn't exist when she was younger, so we're over the moon with relief about that. Thanks so much for watching, Hannah :)

I’ve done it in bus toilets myself and yes indeed it is quite difficult. It always seems like the bus drives over the roughest portion of the road when I’m in there.
