Good for you! I support you 100%. If you can review american made products & american owned companies; I will buy through you; but not via amazon. (so sorry) Really -- you two are my fav channel .. :) I just I returned $1200 of various camping & household products via amazon & have will be returning everything that I still can. I cant support amazon or any chinese made product; including the jackery made in china power bank & solar panels, I had purchased earlier in the year, as well. Only buying patriotic american owned & made products .. seems garmin products is a good source? I cannot support china who wants to destroy usa; but I do support our chinese american businesses; who had escaped from their tortureous chinese govt ... and the cruelty these poor chinese people have suffered for decades; under such a cruel & inhumane evil dictatorship. I just bonfired 2 pairs of my nike shoes ... burning $200 of the anti-american nike company while they reside in the usa - planted a huge on my face. =Just say no to biden's communist america. PS, I'm the one who emailed you the info about that too small lodge frying pan lid. Truly, I love you both! God bless & Happy 4th!!! :)

It’s been in the 90’s in Bowling Green Ky. When I get to go camping, I love the total experience. I love sitting by a stream, river, or brook; and listening to the sounds around me. I love the fire and the way it invokes a reflective inward. Then I have the best time cooking on the fire! It makes me so happy. Sleeping is sooooo awesome when the night sounds are singing their lullabies. Thank you for all you bring to us and I hope you never quit

YES!! Get the van! Add a comfortable cot store your gear in a plastic bin under the bed. You have room to move around inside. That way the sand is not in your bed! And if you get spooked ( always park with the front ready to drive out) jump up front and drive away. If you're lucky maybe find a van with the tent roof extension. Loved this video and thanks for the gear links!

A nice custom fitted regular van can be really comfortable for almost any kind of camping trip. 40 years ago my Dad bought my Mom a custom van for Christmas to surprise her and she just loved it! Me and my Brother would "borrow" it for road trips and camp in it for long weekends and it was such a blast. It's a great idea and it can be done for a reasonable amount. Suzy and a van... YES! A friend of mine is very petite, and as a woman that OFTEN travels alone, and wanting multi-purpose, she purchased a van with driver and one passenger seat only, (white, to help reflect heat) uses it "plain" as her daily driver, but easily stows a cot and mattress, set or two of storage-bin style plastic drawers, water jug, camp stove, ice chest, porta-potty etc. and has a WONDERFUL time "adventuring"! :D She added trailer hitch for towing small trailer for her off road motorcycle, can load bicycles in the back, whatever she wants! :D Everything is light enough for her to add/remove by herself, and after adding some insulation, she uses it pretty much year-round for camping, as well as general travel. It gets good fuel mileage, not bad for parking etc. :D

I picked up a 1999 Pontiac Montana Van and took out all but the front 2 chairs. My 2 Rottweilers loved. The young one at the time ( Sheba ) would sit on top of my small Craftsman tool box with 3 drawers and a open top. She was so proud of that. The second Rottweilerwould sit in the passenger seat. Her name was Queen and she picked out Sheba when she was about 4 months old. So we are driving along and I passed a semi truck and the Van rocks all over the place. So I thought the van was coming apart. It turned out my crazy Sheba was trying to attack the Semi's. So all the way from Illinois to Texas that van was rocking everytime we passed a semi truck. She even did it in my Beast. A 2001 GMC Duramax 3500 4X4, 4 door, 8 foot bed.

I LOvE having my old 1999 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular. Fully self-contained, on board generator provides AC anytime I need it. Runs off of the vehicle fuel tank. Heat, stove, water heater run off propane. Total freedom. Allows me to take my dog and know she is always in a climate controlled environment. Check out the ‘vintage’ Roadtreks. ‘73-2002. The safety of being able to get to my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and never have to open the door is priceless! My cane at a cost of $18,500 and I made sure to budget for future repairs as it is an old van. I spend lots of time in east Tn, western NC and VA. Handles our mountains very well. Go for the van! You will love it.

I had a 1978 chevyvan G20 for 16 years, orginal battery, 15 mpg on highway...went many places, slightly customized...never packed for camping, just threw whatever in. Gave it off to my nephew, he drove for another two years before selling off. went to a pickup, only to realize the first thing packed in was the last thing to come out. I think you will enjoy the travels with a van, as long as you are used to low gas milage ...I miss that van to this day, and still long for one of the newer taller ones.

Thank you for sharing this awesome adventure and do keep your secret. It would be heartbreaking to have it destroyed or ruined by irresponsible people. I had the fortune of living in Japan outside of Tokyo as a child and I can still speak "skoshi" Japanese. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and my favorite memories are of Nikko Park with views of Mt. Fujiyama. Our maid lived in the gorgeous countryside and her home reminded me of the Samurai homes. Today, here in Richmond, the temperature is 94, overcast but feels like 104. Susie, a van would be an awesome idea. I own a 2019 GMC Savana 2500 cargo van with a 6 liter V8, not fuel efficient, but I absolutely love it. All I did was move my man cave out of my house into the van and it is super comfortable. However, with the heat I have three small fans and a Vornado fan to cool the back area. Two of the small fans are evaporative coolers. A Jackery 240 run my fans, a string of Luminoodle lights and a vacuum cleaner. A Jackery 500 (with two 100w solar panels) will keep my fridge going when the engine is not running. My bed is a Coleman cot with a Teton base mat to sleep on. I placed a section of deck railing over the cot to give it stability and keep a little firmness to my bed; I disliked the trampoline effect from the cot. All of my clothing and emergency survival gear are stored in two plastic chest of drawers. My rescue and emergency extraction gear, i.e. traction boards, axe, rope, straps, fire extinguisher, etc., are wall-mounted. My privacy curtains are camouflage and were made for a kid's bedroom. Mesh doors keep the flying insects outside. I made my own awning and supports are two Elephant tent poles. A rear foldup cargo basket carry a 20lb propane tank, extra water, stove and other gear; extra fuel on remote camping trips. A roof rack will carry my SUP board and eventually a Thule long storage box. Magnets, industrial velcro, cable ties and bungee cords will become your best friends. Many of my female friends out west are buying the Nissan NV200 and the Ford Connect model vans as they are smaller and more fuel efficient.

Back in the 90s I restored a '76 Chevy van,and I can comfortably say I have missed it ever since I let it go. For overlanding and car camping, it is definitely superior to a doghouse on the back of a pickup. Just for the floor space and head room alone. The only thing I would do different now is a 4WD conversion, lift, and a 3/4 or 1T conversion for better towing capacity. For SURE, I would do it again

I am subscribed to a couple of Japanese buscraft/camping channels, and yes, they do go all out. I think a van would be “Vantastic"

I have 92 GMC Vandura 2500 with the 5.7ltr engine. Updated motor, trans, suspension and installed some updated comforts. I like it because I can stand up inside and I can go 500 miles on a tank of fuel with the air on. Good video!
