Saw this one in classic boat mags throughout my teens and 20's into the 90's. Was stationed on a USCG tug out of CT and woke up one morning to find her moored right behind us in Essex.

Her lines are simply fantastic! And 10 knots at *idle*! Talk about "TACAMO"...taking charge and moving out! In the late 70s, a restored rum runner was berthed at the marina my dad and I chartered out of to go fishing. She was about the same length, but steel hulled and an absolute classy classic beast of a boat.

These old boats is where the most class is my opinion. Way more details and just seems more like a real boat

I’ve been a fan of Aphrodite for over 40 years. She’s a legend in eastern Long Island Sound. I’m glad to see a thorough rebuild was done. Twin 1,000 HP engines? Well commuter boats were always built for speed.

Did the original boat have a different engine? I saw this boat at Watch hill (2000) and as i remember it . The engine area was visible thru a glass & wood box . And it was full of brass work. Do I have the wrong boat ?

The way she flows gets me very.........fizzy. Did modern engineers forget how to design a hull at some point?? Because that boat is magic.
