This intro speaks to me. Many times in many different fighting games have i gotten my friend low and expected him to accept that he's lost the round and take the L. But he just shouts things like "You thought i was going out like a BITCH!?!?!" Then proceeds to guess right multiple times in a row and rob me.

So while meaty is often seen as an attack hitting on wakeup, what it actually means is when you hit an attack later in the active frames, so you recover earlier while they still take the same amount of hitstun and you get extra plus frames making your followup combo or pressure much more dangerous. The later in the active frames hit, the more meaty the attack. The most likely time for this to happen is when their hitbox isn't hittable during the first part of the move, which is most common during wakeup (hence why its often mixed up with hitting on wakeup) but can also happen when they dash or fall into the hitbox or if your hitbox moves along the ground. Hence why meaty garuda impact can go into another garuda impact just to make you cry. Millia's HS disk isn't generally considered meaty for this reason since its a projectile and you're trying to hit them with the first active frame since you want to lock them down as long as possible to set up your 4-way mixup rather than trying to hit them with later frames to get more plus frames since the move is already going to jail them for a while.

I know youre being sarcastic, but blocking setplay mixups is some of the most heart-pounding action in the genre imo. Mashing out or Reversaling at the right time because you're in their head makes you feel unstoppable, expecially when you get to run your own mix because of it it makes me feel like an anime protaganist monologing about the power of friendship and I LOVE it

How you explain advantage states with turns is exactly how I explain it to new players too. Simplifies a lot of things, even the concept of reversals and parry moves effectively stealing turns.

As a pure gorilla my main strategy is doing a super and then canceling it before it does real damage, then taunt. It is a pure, 100% mental damage combo. It converts people to the gorilla cause, which is my realm.

@@jormilos the only one worth calling War Crime - MBAACC C-Roa. For those that have never played it, you can't block forever there because you enter guard break state after blocking enough attacks. Roa doesn't need to mix you up at all, he won the moment he touched you.
