The US battle rap is about rapping and who can do it better. While the UK battle rap is more like a skilled roast battle. That why I think comparing them doesn’t work. It’s like action vs comedy. It’s all what you prefer.

No it's not. Lunar C is not a good example of a usual uk battle rapper. The fact that he never took anything seriously and focused on humiliating his opponents is what won over crowds on so many occasions.

The US rap battle scene is heavily intertwined with gang life and culture. There are a few rappers that focus on jokes but they never get given "the win" or the respect. Because of that, almost every rapper has to make quite a few guns bars. Since everyone uses them though, they have to be creative or ridiculous so that they sound different. Coming from an American everything that’s being said about US battle rap is true. We definitely do value lyricism and intimidation more than jokes. I think it’s cause we see the work and effort needed to write good meaningful bars, and appreciate it more. Don’t get me wrong though, some UK Battle rappers definitely do have some bars. Just more apparent in US battle rap Also that “Marshal Law” bar at the beginning hits even harder if you know the battlers name is marshal as well.

The USA has so much up its sleeve when it comes to intelligent humor, metaphors, double and triple entendre and just down right disrespectful bars. Sidemen dont watch battle rap at all you can just tell. its obvious they gonna pick UK no matter what video it is. Anytime the sidemen put "UK vs USA" in the title I already automatically know they picked a video that tries so hard to make the UK look better and that the sidemen will always say "the UK does it better" its so bias and not funny.

I’m in American, and I think they’re both really good. I think what you like is based on your mood Like for listening to aggression and playing on words, American freestyle is what you want. But if you wanna listen to more of silly roasts and creative insults then UK freestyle is more of a fit

Americas freestyle doesn’t rhyme and it doesn’t hit the same. When the Americans were saying it they were deadly serious but in reality they’re massive pussies who couldn’t hurt a fly. When the uk did it, it rhymed and it was funny, you could see the opposite person laughing because what was said was hilarious, even if it were said about their mothers. If that was said to an American today, they’d gasp and say you’re not allowed to say that, you’d ask why and their response would be it’s offensive and you might hurt their feelings. It doesn’t matter what mood you’re in, I was sat here in a normal mood listening to the American one, wishing I lived their so I could cock back my fathers gun and shoot myself through the ears. Whereas when the British one came along, I was shitting tears. No matter the mood, uk stomps the shitty thing u call freestyle. Also agressive, there was nothing agressive about the Americans, they don’t even know what they’re talking about because you can see almost all of them lost whilst doing their “freestyle”.

UK rap battles are just shits and giggles lmaoo. American rap battles are far more aggressive with stronger disses that hit deep. It's about who's the real head huncho and who's the real steppa while being lyrically creative on another level. Not to discredit the lyrical ability of UK rappers, but US is just different. Only thing with UK rappers is that I need subtitles because I can't understand what they're saying sometimes. Some Brits got a hard ass accent lmfaooo.

Yeah here in UK its just for laugh and we've very blunt when it comes to shit like this. Us battles seem like they're actual fighting for something hence the aggression they come with. But on a real though, did you find the helicopter bar where he spun him around good? cuz as a brit, it was really cringe.

In general I like the UK style, because of its lightheartedness, but it’s clear that the US is far ahead in world play and ability. America have a lot more quality rappers

There were apparently issues behind the scene with staff not getting paid and Eurgh (The guy that co-founded Don't Flop) using the business account money for personal things. I don't know the truth of all the details but they basically just all fell out. As for other channels not popping off I think it probably has more to do with KZfaq's algorithm changing more and more towards family content.

i find the UK rap battles much more entertaining, but i will say it’s much more a glorified roast battle then a rap battle lol, america started the scene in the first place, so i can’t say we’ve done it better then them, i don’t even think they can be compared since they’re so different.
