Jason, i was going to point that out too as at the 7 min mark of the video i saw the Seals orange shirt and then i saw the twisting river and said that might be Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. Been there many times but NEVER seen it from 10,000 ft like that. But i knew the huge Stokes basketball arena was next to it and then finally i was sure when i saw the big "T" in center of football field. I found out later the Navy Seal is a Tn graduate. Btw, in case anyone is wondering they are dropping at 125mph...
@Mr.Ekshin
@Mr.Ekshin 3 жыл бұрын
@@davidcooley275 - They only hit the (125mph) drop rate for the few seconds they were in freefall. In this particular drop, it looks like they opened chutes right after leaving the plane, so they quickly slowed to about 15mph drop rate for most of the descent.

Take it from someone with a fear of heights who goes skydiving every chance I get. When you're up that high, you don't even feel the phobia, and I think it's because the ground is so far away. I could certainly never land with that level of accuracy, though. I can be accurate enough not to die, but that's about it. Lol

This is definitely a thing. I've served with guys who have no problem jumping out of aircraft, but when it comes to rappelling, they freeze up. Turns out you can have a fear of heights that you don't know about, even though you've been doing static line jumps from a thousand feet your whole career.

The stadium is called Neyland Stadium. It’s in Knoxville Tennessee. It’s the University of Tennessee’s football stadium. Peyton Manning is the most famous or most successful player to come from there that you guys may have heard of. At the beginning of the video the Seals were wearing T-shirts with his college number.

Hey guys. Funny to hear the point Dave brought up about guys saying they could do it. My brother was in the Navy for 30 years and spent a large portion of those years as a SEAL. I was hanging out with those guys and one of them got into a "discussion" with a couple of civilians who went on and on about the fact that they had jumped many times. The old SEAL asked if they had ever tried it blindfolded the whole way down and the guy said of course not why do you ask that? The old SEAL told him well we usually do our jumps in the middle of the night on a night with no moon, and knowing that everybody on the ground below wants to kill us. The brash civilian hero bought the next round of drinks. The guys nowadays also do HALO jumps (high altitude low open) from ridiculous heights. Cheers.

Two US Army stunt paratroopers collided one time, one going at high velocity because his shoot was not fully open. His speed caused him to hit the other man with such force it amputated both his legs mid-air like a flying knife blade. You can't stop that full bleeding out up there and sadly he perished. Things can really go wrong with close spacing like this.

I have been skydiving 17 times in the last 3 years and it's amazing, everyone should do it at least twice. The reason I say twice is because the first time it's scary and you can't really concentrate on the amazing scenery, but the second time you jump that horrible fear is gone and you really enjoy it and it's almost like a drug you want to do it over and over.

I kept my jump wings for 30 years in the military but to do what they just did is special. Most people think of parachutes as the circular canopy above your head and you just fall...better know as static line jumping. You just go out and a tether pulls your chute for you. They can be steered a little but its hard. These guy's chutes are like gliders...very steerable and if they are coming down too fast they can brake and even climb if they hit the currents right. Saw an Army Ranger land on the rear bumper of a truck once. I have a couple thousand jumps with only a couple of minor injuries, mainly sprains, and once I screwed up and landed on a cactus! LOL

GO VOLS! This Schools team are called the Volunteers, signaling the tradition of Tennessee sending usually more volunteers then any state for our nations conflicts. Where as most schools have Jersey numbers of great players etc. Neyland stadium also has the numbers of the players that died in combat, and they are given far more reverence. I recommend you watch "Tradition" by Scott Colthorp to get a sense of stadium and people and why it was a fitting location for Seals. Not gonna lie the team has kinda sucked for going on a decade and a half, and no real championships since early 90's, the pride is still there though, and reverence for military is total. If you are ever in the area in the fall I highly recommend you go see any game. One of the loudest stadiums on the planet, and it's extreme vertical design makes it feel like a Roman coliseum on steroids, and navigating the extremely steep stands a bit risky when half the crowd is pretty drunk off of tailgate parties, and the Vol Navy boats. If you have a fear of heights this is a rough venue.

I sky dived once, free-fall. The 45 seconds of free fall can’t be explained. All problems, concerns, anxieties fly out of the body and are locked out by your anal sphincter lol..as you look over at the instructor 20 feet away wondering what he could help with if I have a problem…the sound intense, then chute deploys, you make sure your cute is open and your not going to have to pull off an emergency landing on you first jump. Then absolute silence and a massive rush of adrenaline and bliss and you look out over a vast horizon….and just smile, and smile.
