Hawaii resident here. That missile scare was the craziest things I’ve ever experienced. People were absolutely panicking trying to find shelter and tbh, I thought it was for real because of the tension with North Korea at the time. Thankfully, it was a false alarm but the dude who accidentally issued the false alarm got death threats in the aftermath of the scare. That alarm was supposed to be a routine test of the emergency system but instead he pressed the button to issue an actual alarm. So really, pressing the wrong button literally caused all that chaos.

@@the_real_mrd He probably didn't mean it but it didn't stop people sending death threats his way. I know because it was on the news at the time despite efforts being made to hide his identity. Fortunately, this is all in the past now and no one really brings it up now. But honestly, the whole response to it was crazy. Our governor (who's still governor now) tried to tweet out from his account that the whole thing was a false alarm but it took him 45 minutes to tweet something out because he forgot his twitter password. It was honestly a crazy time that I'd rather not remember haha. I'm just glad no one was physically hurt.

That official story is crap otherwise they would have canceled the scare faster. If you're the manager of the guy who sent it or their managers manager or their... you would get on the batphone in about .4 seconds after receiving the text and you'd CYA about as fast. No way this was an accident.

Lived through TWO tornado hits in Illinois and holy shit... That sound. They say it's like being next to a freight train but the terrifying part is how it almost goes silent right before it hits sometimes. We had a brick open in the crawl space under the house to let air in and out for radon mostly and you could see the grass just tearing up from the wind and then it just stopped. Then WHOOOOOSH, took the back of the house up some and went through the back yard. I was about 11 then, I'm 36 now, I can still hear that fucking sound when I think about it and I get goosebumps. The destruction is awe inspiring and truly humbles you as a human.

As someone who was paralyzed n lost my entire family in a tornado... i was a month shy of 2 yrs old, n was sole survivor.... n i dont have memory of it.. but.. my mind cant help but think n wonder what my parents n sis endured n experienced... n sometimes when i want to torture myself i try n think about such things.. n i'm not gonna lie, i was sobbing during that video just rethinking those events all over again.... imma be 39 this year.. spent 37 years in a wheelchair. I highly recommend if your scared of these kind of storms, as i clearly was my whole life... the thing that helped me overcome a lot of my fear n anxiety was watching n following storm chasers. Educate yourself about these sorts of things. Ignorance = Fear. Knowledge is the fear extinguisher. (for most part, obv not in all cases, cuz sometimes knowledge can lead to fear). But learning about these storms, seeing how close people can get to interact w/them but respecting what they can do helped ease my mind. (And having the reoccuring nightmare where i wanted to fight the tornado hand to wind.. helped me overcome my PTSD n let me move on w/my life)

The Hawaii Missile Alert must have been TERRIFYING. I mean, it could not have seemed ANY more real than that. On all the Live TV channels, with the banner scrolling across including the words “THIS IS NOT A TEST”. I’m surprised there wasn’t more chaos, looting, shooting etc in the streets, for those 30 or so minutes, until the OFFICIAL ‘All Clear’ came through. The guy playing golf reminds me of a British film I saw, from the early 1980’s, but i saw in the about 1998 (as I was barely born!!). It was similar to the more famous - and terrifying - ‘Threads’ but I forget the actual name. Anyway, it starts with a long buildup in tension between the USSR & NATO, until things tip over into war suddenly. The sirens go, the BBC broadcasts its thing, and these guys who aren’t going to work anymore (life has almost come to a stop with the worry) are having a pint or 8, one lunchtime in their local. The 30-minute Red Warning comes over the Pub’s radio, and everyone runs, screaming, to try and “find shelter”. This one guy doesn’t move. He’s outdoors, at a picnic bench, pint in hand, looking at the sunny sky. His mates all jump up and shout at him “Come on, come on, we’ve got to go and find cover!! What are you waiting for!!!”. And he replies calmly, something like “I’m here, at my favourite table, at my favourite pub, with a pint of my fave, cold beer. There is no “shelter” from this. I’m staying here. I’m happy where I am, thanks.” Calm as anything. And he’s right. The aftermath is worse than any nightmare, and I think I would be inclined to think like him, and stay put in all the chaos, let destiny play out…. PS - yes the UK does have a similar Emergency Text system to every mobile ‘phone, in this circumstance. And if you want to give yourself nightmares for a night or two, search KZfaq for “UK Protect and Survive”. Theses are the REAL UK Government films that WOULD have played on a loop on all channels, hat the Cold War turned Hot. And, they are pretty terrifying. Maybe the Soviets & Americans saw them, and were so scared by them, that they never Went Hot….. LOL……🤔

if he took action he could have saved his life or saved himself from injury if it was an actual nuclear attack, assuming it wasn't going to hit near enough to kill him instantly. Sorry for the ignorance, but curious as an American: are there no amber alerts in the UK? Or even Europe for that matter? Them saying they wouldn’t believe a text had me confused. Amber alerts aren’t texts, they’re alerts that make sound whether your ringer is on or off, generally something serious such as a description of a vehicle involved in a kidnapping or something like that. There must be something similar in the UK no?

The mass text thing has been around for a while. The amber alert is what started it I believe. Anytime a child is kidnapped in your state. You will get a text and your phone will scream no matter what setting it’s on. And it’ll tell you all the details of the child and the person who has them. They have now retrofitted it to send alarms for anything.

Radio broadcast was played at the wrong speed, so it sounded creepy and deep Daycare run by an old woman who needed something to do, her kid has money so he doesn't care if she only has two clients.

That green daycare building is in Salt Lake City. I used to drive by it several times a week. Odd to see it here.

Don't underestimate Nexpo's content. I hope you guys will react to more of his Disturbing Things from Around the Internet. The other ones are better than this one, I think.

Look the daycare thing is easy to investigate. You show up at normal hours and ask to tour the facility since you are looking for places to register your kid. all daycares do tours.

It doesn't matter if it was Manhattan, or Hawaii, or even Guam, if someone launched a nuclear attack against the United States or their territories, the response would be the same: The American retaliation would wipe the attacking country off the face of the planet. That's the way it has to be when it comes to nuclear weapons. It's the assurance that such a retaliation would be imminent that prevents nuclear powers from using nuclear weapons against each other, and any moderation of that position would only serve to make the future use of nuclear weapons in war more likely.

Also our missile defense system is pretty robust. They say with in 7 minutes we can react and attack back during a missile attack. We may die but america will make sure the first person died too.

I don't believe a thing from that daycare one because its inception was on a REDDIT conspiracy sub. The amount of users on there that want to try to create the next "creepy" post and/or add comments like "I would advise you to stop looking into this place" is so laughably dumb that it's actually entertaining to watch people give out their theories until it becomes a full grown circle jerk. I wouldn't trust a single thing said on that sub.

Did anyone notice in the picture of the 2 girls entering the day care, the front entry was different? And the girls looked a little old for my idea of day care, which is babies and toddlers, up to preschool.
