If you see 2 signs beforehand and come to finally 1 it was your damn fault that you have to do a u-turn. Plus in a constitutional zone u-turn are legal if road is block.

I watched a women drive clean through a “Road Closed” sign in a neighborhood today, as I took a detour to the exit I saw her stuck behind more signs being yelled at by workers... good time

I work in construction in New Zealand, and it's exactly the same here. If you approach a driver who has ignored the road closure they will yell and scream at you about how ridiculous the road closure is even when it may be just a 5 minute detour or completely forgetting the fact that it's impossible to do some work without closing the road. I honestly wish they would give us an undercover cop to catch everyone of them out!

1: If that many people are confused about the road being closed ahead than it's not marked properly. 2: Road Closed Ahead is not the same as Road Closed. Mark the 2nd sign Road Closed and set a few road cones across the street. Better still, offer a set of detour signs to guide drivers around. If the town was concerned about safety, THAT'S what they'd do.

Detour signs would’ve saved a lot of people some money

We had a road wash out on us33 in west Virginia. In a state of emergency the governor ordered the road to be shut down. I literally worked a 16 hour shift explaining why the road was closed. There was literally no road to drive on and people were still trying to go through our barricades. Signs up for 3 miles. Most frustrating job I do.

Doesn't look like much construction is going on if drivers can drive around the signs and safely get to where they're going! I didn't see any work being done there, lol.

Just like at work today I was flagging and everyone was trying run me over while I’m holding a stop sign or asking if they can go. Guys stop sign says stop, stop wait till I switch it to slow or we’ll never make it home.

Theres nothing to be confused about, obey all road signs no matter what, just because hundreds are complaining doesn't mean they're right

Looks like there was plenty of warning and the road was closed only one direction. There was even a side street to turn on. The only thing I think they sould have added was a "Do not enter, one way traffic" signage pointing out of the barricades.

In modern societies they put up amazing things called temporary traffic lights so both directions can share 1 lane in turn.

Why would you even drive around? Whenever I see a road closed sign or sidewalk closed and it looks fine, I still turn around or find another way

Where I live, construction companies leave automated signs far ahead of a construction site. Put notices on local news and radio stations. Instead of road closed signs, lane closed signs are used. Road closed means the entire road is closed

Of course they are gonna stand by the decision. They aren't just going to give back 30 grand. That was no mistake. They close down roads all the time, and most of the time there is absolutely no reason the road can't be used.

Here in montana if a road is closed we have signs up pointing to a detour route. A couple hundred dollars for 2 signs could save citizens thousands and eliminate a "safety issue"

And this is why traffic is a nightmare in Florida. I moved here from Arkansas 5 years ago and thought, do they even have drivers licenses in Florida? Like, damn.

It seems as if their should be signs for a detour.I drive a semi truck and have encountered poor planning from the city and or construction crews. When you are not from the area it can be very dangerous looking for an alternate route. Detour signs definitely help

Before you close a road you have to put up detour signs.

Provision should have been made for local residents.

If the road is closed on both sides then why is only one lane actually closed/blocked. If construction is being done on the side of the right lane then the left laanee should be open. At least that's how they do it in VT, NY, NH, ME, RI. Sounds more like a good opportunity to grab some cash.

Preparation for posting alternative routes, clear and proper signage should have been prepared, this is unacceptable.

If the road is closed, then where are the workers for the road construction? It’s one thing to put up the road closed signs, but another to just leave up the signs with no visible construction on hand. This is my concern due to seeing a lot of “construction” but no road construction, especially after months of no action.

Americans are overworked, overstressed, tired, and these situations, plus such a hard ass law enforcement, make things even more bad.

Were there _Detour_ signs? If such a problem, why wouldn’t the city just post an officer at both entrances? Is this an example of the State preserving liberty or hindering it? Why is the State choosing to act in a punitive manner, rather than supportive one?

I think this was very needed, and needs to be more frequent. I have done traffic control before, and honestly it sucks. Not because the job is hard, but because some drivers are complete jerks. I had people run/not obey stop signs, make u turns when there is a "no u turn" sign, run over reflective cones, etc. I had to get in between my truck and trailer once because some ding dong almost lost control in a 2 lane street (on lane closed with a controlled stop sign) guy didn't even attempt to stop. He was doing prob 60. TLDR; This video is satisfying to watch

Signs are pretty clear. All you have to do is read and follow directions. I don't have sympathy for anybody that doesn't follow the directions.

There was a road closed sign that I ignored due to a flood across the roadway...I tried to drive thru...I was 1/2 way across but it got up to my suv door height and I turned around cus I've seen clips where roads collapse when it's a flood

If your so distracted while driving that you don't see 3 signs warning you then you shouldn't be driving. Because your gunna kill someone due to being distracted.

All that "Road Closed Ahead" says is that _somewhere_ ahead *a* road is closed. It could be the road you're on; it could be a side road. It could be a side street off a side road. Until you get within sight of the actual barriers you have no idea and the cops know it. Nice little earner for the town.

Hasn't the USA heard of mobile traffic lights? They use them throughout the world. They are traffic lights that only allow one direction to past through the single lane whilst stopping the opposing traffic and use timing/sensors to detect cars. They work 24hrs and no one needs to man them.
