@berunkasuteru6 жыл бұрын
it's really good in that manner because it's a juxtaposition to the brutal level design similar to something like stickerbrush symphony and helps quell your anxiety as you're making your way through its challenges. the environment is really good at this too, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that golden ridge is a lower point of madeline's anxiety, even if the main level's music is more suspenseful and has more buildup with the percussion

So I am 100% convinced that if it weren't for Lena's music in this game, I would have raged so hard and quit way before I was able to complete all the B and C sides. The fact this music is so damn good, not too repetitive or annoying, and fitting of the atmospheres/levels they were in made this game so much more enjoyable than it would have been without it. So if you ever read this, thank you Lena. For real, this was such a surprise game with such an amazing soundtrack.

I know it's relaxing to a lot of persons, I can get it but... why does it messes so much with my feelings? The overall ambience is.. I would not say sad because that's not the feeling this song might be meant to carry, I haven't yet went through the B sides of Golden Ridge, I discovered the song watching the agdq run (which is by far the most wholesome run I've seen. Laughter and pure passion, memes all over the place! 10/10 best antidepressant) so I might not have the experience of going through the tough level (only did 1B and 2B yet) Adding that to the discovery of this song.. oof mah heart mah soul. I went to give it an ear to this whole song and.. I wasn't prepared. I'm a musician but not an expert, I don't have the perfect pitch nor the skills to analyse the masterpiece that is this game soundtrack. The first notes.. I can't express how these first notes resonated in me. I felt a huge tidal wave of sorrow and I felt so small, overwhelmed, I found myself wondering what was going on, why did it triggered way too many emotions in.. basically one single bar! Yes, everything I said was when I only listened to the intro! Because the whole song was... fgkjgfdsrghb ❤ The slow tempo is like a call to breath away from the anger of messing a part of that level, take it slow and sync your breathing to this beat and not on the brass synth which goes way faster and would seem to represent a wave of self doubt yet.. these chords are beyond amazingly beautiful.. The percussions are minimalist yet powerful, the kick is deep and the reverb around it gives it a heart beat like tone, which is comforting! The clap (or snap, maybe it's both) is light, as if it was meant to be a bit more discreet to make the track a bit more calm and smooth than a good old snappy 808 snare that would be a tad too energetic and unnerving I think.. But the thing that really really goes on to me is the long voice-like synth. It's tough for me to be precise, cause I ear both an innocent singing and a slow lament, the portamento (I think that's the correct word for describing the sliding effect from a note to another) is far from being the fastest nor the slowest but it's tuned just right so it carries this human voice feeling that might comfort you and remind you that this stage is a challenge that both You and Madeline are going to conquer! It's unbelievable! The overall musicality is crazy busy with chords and scales I haven't ever heard before. I'm learning about scales and proper chords progression after making music for 2 1/2 years where I only composed blindly. Without knowing what I was doing haha, recently discovered dominant 7th and 9th chords so I won't be able to tell you which note is which but ooh my does this mystery makes this song even better to me. But the part of the song that's stucked in my mind is the interlude where only the melody remains and the other instruments returns to complete the piece. It's somehow classic but important, it gives the player a sentiment of progression like on Celestial Resort where the theme during the big clean-up gradually completes itself each step further you make. Well that's a lot of words to say "Loved that song" yet I wanted to write something as big as I love it hahaha! Thank you, to the entire Celeste Team for making a game that really amazed me. I haven't had such thrills about a game in so long, thank you thank you thank you. ❤ And if you went through the hassle to read my low tier analyse well thank you too you're a really kind person and I reserved a part of strawberry pie for you! ❤🍓

Okay but for real, this song snuck up on me so hard. I've heard it a million times and I absolutely love it (ILWAG is one of my favorite musicians). So hearing it suddenly while playing Celeste was enough to get me really emotional. ; v ; This song and the whole level are really special.

Celeste is gonna be my workout mix at this rate, too much wholesomeness, it makes me wanna live and explore the possibility of this world, and I'm not the motivated type of person but it's so poetic and so vibrant I don't have the words to describe what it inspire me. I didn't even have time to play the game yet I'm so attached to it, thanks buddy for this masterpiece we really needed it.

When I decided to watch the owl house, I ended up staying up all night to watch from the start to the end of season 2. When I finished it in the morning, I was pretty much emotionally broken lol, I didnt really do anything for the rest of the day. Later that day I was listening to some music and I thought it this, and when I listened to it I just let all of my emotions out, crying for a while and listening to the incredible music. Long story short, this song means a lot to me and it always makes me remember that moment and the emotions that came with it, most of them good :> Lena Raine is amazing. Also sorry if this doesn't really make sense or if it's like off topic or something this is just my experience with the song

this is one of my favorite tracks from the b-sides it gives me cold but autumn/winter mixed feelings towards it and the vocals help it that much more to put it in a setting just beyond that feeling of calm
