I feel the same about the happy and sad vibe, but the order is kind of inversed for me. To me it sounds like Kikuo is finding happiness in something sad, rather than sadness in something happy (possibly a good life metaphor).

To me, it's like a state of melancholic depression in which you wanna stay and never leave. Despite being sad, you feel "safe" and happy, cuz you know there is no better thing out there for you.

今さら気付いたけど、これは1番が殺した人視点の歌詞で２番が殺された人視点の歌詞なんだね。殺した人は殺した自分に罪があると考えている。殺された人は殺すことを頼んだ自分に罪があると考えている。お互いが、あの世でまた会いたいけど自分には罪があるから会えないだろうと思っている。それでも罪が晴れるならまた会いたいと切に願っている。狂気的な歌なのに、そのなかに胸がぎゅっとなる切なさがある。二人はどんな悲しい人生を送ってきたのかな、とかそのなかで似た者同士の二人が出会ったときにどれほど救われたのかな、とか想像してしまう。

this song is pretty darn old but my theory is that the girl(judging that the POV uses female pronoun) kills the guy,her lover, so he can go to heaven. In return, the girl accepts going to hell and receiving the punishment for killing him.Also, it seems like it's a scheme by both of them, and the guy is p much happy to be dying like that(""Thank you", you whispered, and then died") which is also why the song is called "a happy death". It makes sense with the lines that say "if my sins are cleared, lets meet there(in heaven)" as the girl hopes to meet the guy in the afterlife after she comes back from hell to meet him in heaven. Or something.

It's been 5 years you wrote this comment so Im not hasitating to confess a thing. I mean, if someone is reading this uhhhh just... sorry dude. I have an another world in my mind and there, my gender and so many things are opposite from this world. I actually have so many worlds in my brain but the main one is the toughest one. Even though i have a pretty soft and easy life ,the life i am having in those worlds -especially in that one, im gonna call it A- are really tough. in A, my dad leaves me and my mother dies. they are all different from this world. Im not calling this world "the reality" because i cried so many times over the death of my mother. and learned some martial arts for B world's me getting bullied since i have red eyes. I don't know what is going on with me and i have been hiding it from my parents. because i know they will call me crazy and stuff. i went to doctor and didnt let them know about it but that fucking asshole just said "oh it is probably because of puberty" yeah doc as you know. you may ask "dude why the hell are you texting these, its out of context" no its not. because in A, i had a brother which is dead now. and im not sure if i killed him or not. so when i listen to this song i remember him and cry as a baby. he was a really funny kid. I know he is a real person and i know these worlds i imagine or live in, on another parallel universe. I haven' told this to anyone so yeah. i feel kinda releived but still idk what to do. im 19 now so we all know it is not about puberty haha... well sorry again if you are reading this and if you wanna get connected with me you can dm on ig, id be appreciated (idk how to spell it lol) to talk someone who knows my secret because there are more and i don't want to keep this to my grave. @@el9250 yeah, theres definitely allot of differences. i was just entertaining the dynamic, because i thought it would be interesting. A couple hoping they can meet in heaven, but then realizing that their fantasy of heaven doesn't exist. But ofcourse both song's storys, are both interesting itself, and don't need an over arching theory. It was just thought i felt like sharing.

神秘的な曲には有りがちな曲調に感じるけれども、実はこんな感じの曲調の曲は当然無く、これに似た曲調の曲も無いんですよね...でも神秘的な曲に有りがちな曲調に聴こえるのは、きっとこの曲がこういった曲調を初めて使った曲だからかも知れませんね...実はこんな感じの曲は今まで無くてこの曲が生まれて初めて、我々の中にあった新しい神秘的な曲調と言う物を歌に出来た歌なんだと思います。

I personally like the interpretation that the 2 characters are the same person. The 2 children serve as representations of a conversation taking place inside someone's head; One side wants to relieve itself of it's suffering in any way it can - so when it is killed, it is relieved. The other feels as though in death it is condemned; that it cannot rest peacefully, for it isn't *deserving* of a "happy death" - but it also believes that in denying it's death, it is condemned to anguish in the other sides suffering. To me this sounds like someone who is contemplating taking their own life. The first side represents their selfishness, and the other their self loathing

Interesting how some people in the japanese culture think about death in a certaing way like romantic, liberating, happy and eternal, while in my culture dying is sad, unfortunate, the worst thing that could happen Yet by listening to the song and reading the lyrics I can find all the passion about dying and its meaning though the song, so much that this romantization feels kind of relaxing and happy at the end

Michael K You’re confusing that with “Tengoku E Ikou!” (“Let’s Go To Heaven!”) in this one, Koufuku Na Shi Wo (“The Most Happiest Death” or “A Happy Death”) the speaker is strangled by their lover, however the speaker (in this case, Miku) doesn’t mind if she goes to hell (“If I go to hell, then all of my worries shall wash away”) or heaven (“If I go to Heaven, would the angels allow me to be with you?”) as long as her lover is with her, until Miku’s lover dies a happy death, she is waiting for them (possibly between heaven and hell AKA purgatory) so they can be together once more.

@@pennynoir7774 Well, I think that he is not wrong though. The song can be seen from two perspectives as well, one from the person strangling the other, and one from the person being strangled. Though one of the two is killing the other, it can be assumed that the murderer is also going to commit suicide afterwards, since they are both thinking about whether they will go to heaven or hell. So yes, maybe they are dying together, and the one getting strangled is getting the happy death.
