Well said... with thinkers like this guy Jamaica will stay at ground zero in terms of development this hotel will be the hallmark of downtown Kingston I'm sure the ghettos around downtown Kingston will benefit from these developments and will eventually transform into a more modern settings in the very near future this is just the beginning of a new Jamaica...get with it people!!!!

Instead of criticizing, people should be finding partners and buying up properties and investing.

Some of the people in the comments section are annoying. Kingston is going through gentrifications and has been for years now. Some of you belittle Jamaica and are the first to complain when foreigners invest. The next big development area is Port Royal if you don’t want to contribute to Jamaica development others will and are already lining up to do so.

The building is old and I am sure that ROK hotel is going to sick guest and staff. When you have old buildings you bring it down and rebuild. I am pretty sure the walls are going to get persons sick. Again, this is what Jamaica does best, love bitch up old buildings then in the long run them waste them money. Do they have a year limit on hotels before they are to be destroyed and rebuilt? That hotel I am sure over 40 years so that building well old.

I'm all for growth and development in Jamaica, but I'd like to know who will be staying at this hotel? Sugar daddies and their babies? Down the road from the ghetto.

Who would stay? Visitors attending conferences at the neighbouring Jamaica Conference Center? Airplane crews staying overnight and looking for accommodation closer to the airport? Anyway, "visionary" business decisions are about seeing what could be and getting in at the ground floor. This is really a forward-looking investment that's betting on the *future* of Downtown Kingston more than its present.

No. It’s the old ministry of health office that was causing the workers to get sick. Failed government once more. Bcuz they had the option to buy the building and renovated it or go pail millions in rent.
