Was not aware of the recoil spring service life.

One critical thing to remember if your P365 has a safety. When reassembling the pistol you need to push the safety lever up slightly for the slide to fully come on.

I've been plugging along using Hoppes #9 and Hoppes gun oil for years without a single hiccup. My Mass compliant version has been 100% reliable since I bought it in 2018.

I am a Hoppes 9 user, especially for the barrel. Let some soak on the bore than a few passes with a copper brush. Then the patches.

I think they always recommend pulling the patch through the same way the bullet goes out the barrel rather than pulling into the barrel and out the feed ramp end. Which makes sense. Always clean by pulling out the bore the same way a bullet comes out, don’t wanna pull what you cleaned back into your barrel when cleaning. I know your way probably works fine just something I noticed Sig recommends.

Beautiful gun, but if i would choose a SIG-Sauer pistol i would choose the P226, i still prefer the classics.

I've always found oils like CLP to be insufficient on frame rails and the locking surfaces of the barrel/slide. It tends to run off or evaporate, leaving them bare after a period of time. A good light gun grease lasts longer and is better at reducing wear, particularly on alloy frames like on a Sig P226 or Beretta 92. I've used Slip 2000 EWG, Mil-comm TW25B, and Shooters Choice grease over the years on all my pistols with good results.

Hoppe's is the best cleaning kit I ever used. After you clean that gun get a patch with hoppe's no 9 through I can assure you that the patch will come out dirty.

I took my mags apart after the very first shooting and brand new there was already a light surface rust inside the mag bodies. So I used a light application of REM Oil to clean and protect the mag. The Sig mags are very difficult to load when new and I figured dry and rusty didn’t help. I realize that many people don’t want any oil inside the mag body. However, they really are very easy to re-clean.

Solid review. Agreed on keeping the striker area & bore/ chamber clean but dry. Kudos!

I don't know who it was but somebody told me when you clean the striker face hold it upside down so stuff won't fall inside the striker

I'll be picking up a P365 this week. Hope it's at least as durable and reliable as my P320, which I only wipe down every 1000+ rounds.

I think the recommendation with clp inside mag is due to surface rust which can build up on the blued steel. I’ve had a few instances were I’ve cleaned my magazine and the cloth has the burnt orange look after pulling it through mag body. Not only with sig but also walther mags.

I own a couple of Sig pistols, Sig quality is, now, not what it was. Maybe it's the customer service that's gone to crap. All manufacturers can have issues with certain models, owning up to that has slipped away from Sig. You may not have had a negative experience with them, but it's a long way from being uncommon these days. A fairly high profile customer such as yourself will get superlative service, bad marketing not to do so. I agree with your "no wet lube" in the magazine. Wet lube will attract dirt, whatever, so sure, let's make the inside gummy with dust and debris.

Nice video. Love watching these and everybody has their own way. I'd use more than a nylon brush to clean the slide and would use a brass brush for cleaning the first few times personally. Then switch to nylon brush for bore. Guns are pretty tough though, and Sigs for sure. Prob wipe it off and spray some RemOil in there and thats all you'd need practically for a long time unless in military.

Pretty easy to clean a sig handgun. Use toothbrush to all parts of the gun, including spring and barrel. then Rub oil on the gun and parts, let it sit, rub most of it off except a tiny little coating, then lubricant a little the metal parts, then you’re done. easy

I use crud cutter on the frame. It really gets in those tight spots and gets it really clean. As for the magazine, I'm with you on that, I don't use lube. I use powered grafite

Notice at 16:26 the shiny silver wear spots in the upper inside of the slide as he installs the barrel, that wear can be from no lube on top of barrel (rear) near lockup lug. I put a spot of good quality gun grease, or oil, on the barrel to reduce the wear.

Just cleaned my new gun today! Thank you! Although it was with the Hoppe’s kit I think I did goodb I used the Hoppes oil when cleaning the barrel hopefully that wash ok..the kits came with a bore cleaner but I didn’t realize until after the fact. Anyways great video thank you.

I remove the FCU’s out of the grip modules of my Sigs when I’m cleaning after a range day. It’s so easy why not do it and make cleaning the lower that much easier.

I've had a Glock 17 Gen 5 for several years and I love it. Thousands of rounds through it and never a jam or misfire. What I really like is how easy it is to disassemble, clean and reassemble. Goof proof.

CLP might be OK if you use your gun regularly but if you store it, especially a revolver, it sticks and sometimes it's very difficult to release the cylinder, etc. As for Sig, I don't trust them at all anymore. Quality is shot; just like the lever not working properly and if one didn't know to push up on the slide lock for it to work you'd be stuck. Also when reassembling there is a latch that sometimes sticks up and you have to push it down to rack the slide back. Still, the 365 is worth having as long as you know how to correct the flaws.

Barber brush/ soft paint brush, air compressor/ air bulb are great add ons. Air compressors/ air cans will add moisture to your weapon, but if you blow out all the debris first it will dry in time for oil/ wipe down.

No oil in the magazine! It’s a magnet for dust and grime, it can cause a malfunction. Maybe they say this for heavy military use now?

2,500 rounds seams a bit premature. For the recall spring. I’m guessing I should change mine. I have 4,500 since July 2023 on mine.

Usually I just drown everything in clp (besides the dry areas that need to be dry), brush everything, wipe everything with a patch then wipe it again with a clp patch 😂

Had a nrand new (thing)going on with my xl yesterday.was over due for cleaning so was sitting down to do it. Pulled out of my kydex holster…slightly out of battery ../ actually,more than slightly..1/2 “ ..Anyone have an idea how that happened but not 100% sure. Any guesses? Guesses?? Clean & lubed and new ammo..holster is clean and screws checked ect too. Good for another 100k

Why not lube the striker safety plunger? I usually use a 1" paint brush with oil and light coat everything. That a bad idea?

Does the trigger get a bit smoother the more you've shot yours 🤔I finally got mine out for a 2nd time yesterday & am consistently low not liking the feel looking to maybe install a flat trigger. Disclaimer the pistols I shoot the best here are my older PPQ's & a Sig P938.

I think social media has been responsible for people thinking it’s funny to not clean and lub the damn gun. Dirty guns is a stupid idea.

Dan wesson also specifies shooter choice fp10 as one of their two specified clp’s. Miltec is their other recommendation. I must have missed what you said about running a lubricated bore brush thru the barrel in cleaning. Thank you for your video.

To summarize twenty minutes: three seconds worth of "Clean it like any other modern semiauto pistol" plus advertising for a cleaning kit that's like any other cleaning kit.
