Didn't even raise the bat at 50, didn't celebrate the 100. All of it came out when he won it for his country. What emotions! It shows how much the win mattered. Absolutely magical. Leach is actually a handy batsman, he's made quite a lot of runs in county league cricket - yes this is a higher level, but he has the technique to play safe and stay there, which proved crucial.

This was 5 years ago. I still get goosebumps and a lump in my throat when I watch it. Is there something wrong with me?!?! It is absolute sheer theatre of the highest HIGHEST order. Even down to the little sub-plots - like Australia throwing away their last review and then desperately needing it with just TWO runs left to get... AND the back story that came before it - the previous 4 days - Englands terrible first innings... Everything about this was - perfect.

Whenever i watch it back it still gives me goosebumps and bring back a smile that i witnessed this gem of a innings on that day ball by ball only test cricket can give this type of joy. I can't help but feel it's marred by the fact Stokes was given an extra two lives. One, the runout, by the Aussies. But that one is fair enough - game pressure. But the other, the howler by the umpire. I know the DRS is in for these things, and the Aussies wasted their DRS chances in understand circumstances. But umpires really should not be making such ridiculous mistakes.
