The UK woman's football teams being axed after the war ended and the "men" returned is exactly what happened in the states with the women's baseball teams were disbanded when the war ended and the men returned to the states (and baseball).

The same thing happened with women’s pro baseball. The demise wasn’t jealousy ( which is really ridiculous and not based in common sense). There was just a saturation point and more people were willing or wanted to pay to watch men. The caliber of play couldn’t be matched by the women

But why then actually go and ban women's football and for such a long time? Seems like an overly excessive measure, especially if the interest in women's sport would've waned anyway. It's an absolutely ridiculous reaction.

The Football Association's own website uses the term: 'On 5 December 1921 The FA met at its headquarters in London and announced a ban on the women’s game from being played at the professional grounds and pitches of clubs affiliated to The FA, stating “the game of football is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged." The ban meant the women’s game was side-lined to being played in public parks for nearly 50 years.'

@@debbylou5729it was quite literally banned by the sport’s governing bodies starting in the 1920s by multiple countries including England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Germany, etc. and the reasons given were based in sexism. you can easily Google that lmao

Not really, she was speaking about overall titles, and in fact cited the three totals by herself (167), Evert (154) and Graf (107) as being the only in triple digits. On top of that, she acknowledged how much harder it is to last nowadays compared to her era. So if anything, she self-humbled.
