Goals, penna's, woodwork, goal mouth scrambles, goal line clearances, great saves, last ditch defending, fair bit of quality, passion, sendings off and contentious refereeing. Money's worth for any neutral that's for sure. Mind you, I reckon the ref got pretty much every penalty shout wrong.

Joesph Johnson (referee) you are a disgrace to English football and you should be absolutely ashamed with that performance. Says it all when Dover the shelves have complained about you and they went home with 3 points. Hopefully that's the last time football fans will ever see that ref. Seemed to have decided Pools weren't going to get anything from the game. After the instance of abuse in the first half, a blatant bias display by the referee and a disastrous afternoon of football the game should be replayed.

I'm glad I had seen things correctly, watching them again here for a second time. Their penalty was not a penalty, Toure should clearly have had one ... and most of all, their No.9 should have been booked for taunting the home fans, which was the flash point for the release of anger built up through a thoroughly inept referee who could not keep up with play, consistently made crass errors and failed to control poor sportsmanship that escalated into much worse. How on earth we received three bookings and three sendings off compared to their single booking, I cannot understand. Johnson should NEVER referee another game. The league and the referee's association have a responsibility to provide competent people to officiate all games. This one lost control early on, lost all respect from absolutely everyone and he could have been responsible for much worse consequences when he allowed at least two of their players to both elaborately over-celebrate for an extended period and then to taunt the home fans. Players too have a responsibility to control their behaviour ... and sadly they know that playing the racial abuse card is something that is almost impossible to defend against. If they incite it and are allowed to incite it by the referee, then they must also be punished. I will be writing to the league today, the referee's association and the media later today and copying my communication to the Club. I hope others will do the same, because this has wrongly been labelled as a racist incident. It was in fact a probably inebriated idiot, incited by an unsporting thug of a player, joined by his unsporting teammates (No. 12 in particular), all uncontrolled, unpunished and allowed to happen by a referee who was seriously out of his depth. I expect a severe punishment for the Club, mostly because the incident has been labelled by the lazy media as a racist one and the powers-that-be will not dare to treat this otherwise, having to be seen to come down hard. It might have become a localized bit of localized 'racist' name-calling, but everything that went before and the 11 minute farce that followed was caused by the referee and the Dover players ... and that must be transmitted to the authorities.
