Saw Jethro Tull the first time with my brother, it was a rainy evening , most of the people left, we stayed till the end of the concert, we didnt knew the band. One of the best evening of my life and now one of our favorite bands ❤🍻 (2007)

When I hear this song I always think of my older cousins that lived up street from me when I was a kid. They saw them in concert and talked about it for months. Always had Jethro Tull on their stereo. Good times and fond memories. Wish I could go back to those days.

Ian has always had a magical sense of humour , I've still got his 25years anniversary DVD which has all the countless members of his band meeting in a pub in London. I have been quite amused by every comment on this video. No one AT ALL gets the antics in this video for what they are. I'm going to show my (kinda scary) age here, and tell all you young folks what's actually happening here. This was from 1976 - MTV did not exist yet, and would not for several years. Note that what you are hearing is the studio cut of this song. At this point in time, asking an artist to lip-synch to their studio cut was, well, weird. Like I said, MTV did not exist yet. Solid Gold wouldn't even be a thing for several years from this point. If you'll watch other videos from around this time, you'll see similar things - Slade, particularly, was known for the singing members chewing gum. In this video, Ian steps on dude's arm while he's playing, and does the beer silliness later - this is so the listener realizes that THIS IS NOT THE BAND'S LIVE SOUND. Bands at that time were afraid that video of them lip synching their studio cut might lead the viewer to believe that's what they actually sounded like live, and would result in disappointment at live shows, and so they would do odd things like this during these weird new "video" things. This practice disappeared by 1980.

What a beautiful music , the best progressive rock band ever . Jethro tull has combined beautiful music with progressive rock including several styles as jazz blues folk Celtic hard and symphonic rock and classic music . The only band can do that.

@Lea Natale I have been a big JT fan most of my life and am also 60. Lately I have been deep into other musicians and bands like David Bowie, Did you happen to see the music and video he made while dying? Blackstar. I also like Talking Heads/David Byrne. Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler too. I wouldn't waste my time on going to see either Ian or Martin these days. I have probably been to over 100 of their concerts over the years. I have come to believe that Ian has some type of ego or issue where he just can't hang it up and let it go. He is like a punch drunk boxer well over his prime still trying to be a prize fighter. I would have had more respect for him and the band had he hung it up while they were still good. I even wrote to him more than once and suggested he get a new lead singer. For any person that wants to hate on me for my analysis, simply listen to any song he performed pre 1980 and pull up a 2019 video of him doing the same song. He is horrendous. In contrast look up blackstar and go to the 4:30 mark or so of that video and listen to Bowie's beautiful voice at age 69 while dying of liver cancer.

It's not live, it's all playback. But don't blame Jethro Tull for it. The TV studios back then simply weren't set up to record live performances so they had no choice.

Ahhh what memories-ae a 60 year Englishman from Peckham in S.E London this was my yery first experience of Jethro Tull...watching this "vid" as a 13 year old on English T.V. and thinking "I have to check out THIS band" and get the album "too old to rock n roll too young to die" which made me "backtrack " to then get (in my opinion) their TWO best albums MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY and AQUALUNG and have been a MASSIVE Tull fan ever since...tragically IRONIC with the THE LATE GREAT JOHN GLASSCOCK MIMING/SINGING with Ian "TOO YOUNG TO DIE"...again (in my opinion) J.T.'s BEST EVER bass player...watching it thinking "there's only ONE COUNTRY THIS BAND COULD COME FROM=proud to say=ENGLAND!! and Ian + Martin are still GOING STRONG some FIFTYFIVE Years later=EXCELLENT!! of a brilliant band that does NOT take itself TOO SERIOUSLY and has a great sense of humour=proud to say=English/British sense of humour...A F*****G BRILLIANT band...cheers,all the best from Piersgrowcott7@gmail.com-a.k.a.-Chopper.

God I remember I was about 19 years old myself when this LP came out this song Still text me to another place and time very thankful for great music memories of great musicians Ian Anderson will live forever for the people that put a thumbs down to this they were brought up and grew up in the wrong generation they will never understand what real music is

A lot of the bands were more a flash in the pan. Also any schmeal who could impress the dj could cut a platter. AND the dj will spin it after this song. Now, its impossible to get your shit played...

If there was a mid evil renaissance musician reincarnated in spirit or traveled thru time it would be Ian Anderson. He captures and combines the lively wild free spirit of the common man of the renaissance with modern rock and roll. If anyone ever goes to a renaissance festival and looked for some kind of connection or relatability just play some Jethro Tull and your there. " Songs from the woods " They're brilliant.

I'm 72 now, had to teach my son (47) to listen to what he is saying and he feel in love with the band ever since. We both have always had to had at least a couple of bikes.

I was born in 62 first Jethro Tull i remember hearing Bungle in the jungle. Love their work seen them in concert a few times. Once was at the Tower theater in Pennsylvania when they did a live concert broadcast. Great band and music

Fell in love with song when I was 18. I turn 45 next month and still love the song - just got my hands on a 1970’s vinyl Chrysalis LP Tull - Vol. II récord, and it sounds better now than ever on my 1973 Panasonic “Multiplex” Stereo receiver and 1970 Fisher 3-way dual front 8 ohm 50 Watt speakers. “Just like it used to be. TULL!!
