OMG, I'm an old gal. Book editor (freelance now) by trade but needed a part-time blue-collar job to be able to make rent. (Been by myself for ages, and used up my retirement savings--cue violins!--taking care of my late great brother w/Down syndrome.) Just left my southeast gas-station-chain job of 8 months (the bod can take no more without collapsing), but while I was there it was impossible to not notice a pattern. I don't want to get sociopolitical here, but I can vouch for an, um, enormous infusion of similar replacements in Venice, FL. Many benefits at taxpayer expense. I don't recall being asked if it was OK with me. "Newcomers" with no ID or expired foreign ID now magically have FL driver licenses. (One even threatened me for not selling him alcohol without an ID.) I digress. I just want to say I see what's happening to you and so many other Americans. The companies that hire them should be heavily fined and have their licenses revoked. Good luck! (PS I can do the proofreading of website copy, since I'm a professional book and print editor. Decades in the industry. One hand washes the other. You need work, I need work.)

I lost my job to immigrants and it was perfectly legal...I don't blame the immigrants looking for a better life, I blame my employer for screwing an experienced employee in favor of an inexperienced employee who makes min wage compared to my wages earned from years of experiences. 😊

I'm not mad at them ... they are good men... it's just that Americans are screwed ... we can't find work in the trades at all... unless we work for fast food money :/... I'm scared ... spent 20 years perfecting a trade and getting to a place where I was making a good wage... then this current administration destroyed that ... I'm so screwed ...

That's why you should start locally. Surely you have friends, colleagues etc that knows someone with a small biz? Even a nonprofit or church that might not be able to pay you but could give you good recommendations and you could use their site as an example.

You're saying you only offer to build the website not maintain it or update it correct? Do you tell them you are creating a Gmail account for them to use on the hosting site? Also, do you send them any other paperwork aside from the invoice like a contract for services? Do they pay for services before getting access to the account or do you invoice them to pay later? I don't want to end up giving free services after I've done work and have to chase people to get my money.

Well as someone who has done this before i would suggest you get a deposit befoee you start work , they pay the remainder once you are done .Maintanance is another service on its on so if you have the time you can upsell that. NB: some business will even need a branding package or marketing package as well so do due dilligence when you do get a client.

I'm not sure you necessarily want to. That could be a recurring revenue stream. If they want to change information, add pictures, change it up in any way, but they don't want to deal with having to learn how to do it, you could do it for them and charge them a nominal fee. Remember you're doing this for people who have little to no experience on the computer or intimidated by it and probably don't even want to manage it themselves. Otherwise they would have taken the time to watch a 2 minute video and do it themselves. The people who want to manage it themselves are probably not going to be your clients anyway.

You won’t believe the amount of people that need websites. Some of them may be older people that are not tech savvy. For some just the idea of building a site is overwhelming. But there is definitely a market for it 😊

I don't understand how the business acquires the website, if there are optional subscriptions. Sounds to me like the website is owned by the A. I people. And is live as long as you're subscribed. Many people do not have websites because they don’t know how to create them or at least they don’t know how easy it can be especially with the advancement of AI. Also, yes you can purchase a domain for $10 but designing a website is a totally different beast. And what the monthly fee is for is basically website hosting. Whenever someone types in your website’s domain name, your web hosting provider will be responsible for sending its content to them. Web hosts also provide tools for users so that you can manage the website This is similar to wix, weebly and many other website hosts. You can own a domain but without a host you won’t have a website for people to visit. You’ll simply just own the domain.

Hi Judy. What do you mean that my number and my husband’s number has not worked? I have never given out my phone number nor would I ever give out my phone number on the internet. You may have encountered one of the many scammers that comment on the channel. Please be careful. But other than that I’m sorry that nothing has worked for you. I am curious to know what have you tried and how long have you tried it. Since you said nothing on my channel has worked for you I’m assuming you have tried every single side hustle or remote job I’ve ever mentioned? Im curious about the time you put into the things you’ve tried because many people have mentioned trying something but only dedicated a month or 2 to it. Some things can take a year or more before you truly see results. None of this is over night. But Hopefully you will find something that does. And I’ll eventually have some of the people that have had success from the some of the things I have shared to come on the channel to share their experience and what is working for them.

The RETURN is them trying to make money from me. If you don't put in the time then the result will be nothing of course. No I did not try EVERY single thing mentioned just what I can DO. If I have to wait 1 year to see result then no thank you. It should take a year to atand on its own. If SOMEONE is unemployed then they should get a regular job with regular income. Then maybe put an hour or 2 in a side hustle that actually works.

And I just assumed you tried many things on the channel because you made a statement that nothing works. But I agree if you need money within the next month then you should definitely get another job to make ends meet until you can turn this side hustle into a main hustle. For some they do see success in a month but for many it takes time to get to a livable wage.😊

Someone reached out to me to create a website and at the time I needed one and I hired them. Someone different reached out to someone else I know, they created hers. Most of the people that I’ve ever hired have been from them contacting me. So to say this does not work, is definitely not true. Every business does not have a website. I don’t know where you’re gathering your info but if it didn’t work for you, you can just say that. Everyone will not get the same results.
