Looks beautiful and I love Simlabs gear but essentially it's a 720p 60hz monitor in a metal case so the mark up must be massive.

Had mine a month, love it - they need to sort the compatibility with a few of the sims, but if you mainly do iracing (which you do) it’s pretty much perfect. Adds real sense of depth positioned between the screen and wheel. A nice to have that I’m really loving paired with my cube controls fpro, I found the screen in the GSI to be buggy AF

Compatibility is on SimHub. It’s main reason I stopped using SimHub. Lots of data out of sims is incorrect. Biggest thing I recall is deltas in simhub always being incorrect Even if in have deltas were correct. It has to do with how the data is exported out of sims as well

I've had this problem with my Simcore dash and iRacing with viewing the UI/replay screen, I wish iRacing will make it so you can have it movable just like the rest of the UI controls. Have a word with them Dave ;o)

I have a a beautiful 6.5”, 460 dpi display, with brushed aluminum casing and wireless connectivity to my setup that is an officially licensed product by Apple that I totally recommend.

About the Iracing camera controls and all that, thats pretty much the reason I went with a dashboard that fits with magnets. Its easy to take it off and put it aside. Now with a screen that size, its probably too heavy for magnets 😅

Great review Dave - lovely bit of kit - I run 27"s too so would not work for me either - however regarding Dashes there is a guy that has designed a Dash that can be imported into Simhub (called 'Lovely Dashboard') which has an ooption specifically for this dash as well - got to say I use it all the time as the latest version now runs across ACC, Ams2, iR & RF2 - goves you all the info you need but the greatest info on it s the fuel info you can flip between time before you run out, laps & usage & finally how much to refuel.... Have a great day buddy - Are you running the Daytona 24 in Jan - if you fancy a drive give me a shout 👍

I saw another video for this, it said the manual suggests putting a piece of black tape over the Porsche if you’re driving a different car. Imagine spending $750 on this and they make such a ghetto suggestion. The Porsche badge should have been magnetic and removable. Not “stick tape over it” lol

I've never understood why these dashboards exist. If you're sim racer looking for maximum immersion then you'll already be driving with the cockpit camera, and bugger me, what's that right in front of you? A dashboard? And not only a dashboard, but the correct one for the car you're driving.

The majority of the time you cannot see the dash on the car if you have your FoV set correctly

Yup totally agree. I use the in car virtual dashboard, with the correct FOV. This just takes away the immersion to me.

@@seventeeen29 That totally depends on the size of your displays. I use a single 55 inch C1 Oled tv or triple 40 inch tv’s. In both cases I can see the in car dash using the correct fov settings. Personally, I would not go lower than a 40 inches.

@@seventeeen29 if you can't see the dash on the car simply adjust the in-game seat position. Seat positioning does not touch the FoV settings

Hi Dave. I really enjoy your channel. I have a question and I hope you can help. I have an ASUS VG278QR 27” Gaming Monitor 165Hz . Can I use 2 ASUS VP278QG 27” 75hz for a triple-screen setup? The difference being two 75hz with one 165hz

This is 100% a waste of money from Grid, its a cheap part with a Porsche logo on it. It’s a 125 dollar monitor from aliExpress in an aluminum case with a $727 price tag.

@@Nineteenfivepointfive they used a 125 dollar monitor from aliexpress throw it in aluminum enclosure and charge 727 dollars for it. So say another 50 for the leds and pcb, and they charge 500 dollars markup for what? The Porsche logo. It’s a joke.

@@AnthonyTaylor It seems to be a massive money grab in sim racing lately. Too much stuff over priced or over a £1000 in general and people say "wow I would love that". Some people are programmed. On Ali express and Ali baba you can. Get these dashboards in a case with leds for 40% less.

Looks great ( a little like a brick) but 3 cables really ?!... When there that are companies that started to do that kind of "form" simdash about 1 year are already doing with 2 cables only... Inside looks like a DIY kit, they had gone the easy way to maximize profit, instead of doing some proper development. It looks great but HDMI in 2023 and 599€ nop... but if you have deep pockets and an 4090 it's a no brainer.

Jeez, £500+++ Nope .. ;) "You all know I'm a Porsche guy" says the fella with a Ford Mustang ... who then says he's never even had a Porsche! I agree it looks ace, but all it seems, to me, to do is replicate the onscreen info (or block some of it) so it'a big no .. especially with having to then buy yet another HDMI cable!!!!!

I'd rather be able to buy one at cost, but that's not how it works unfortunately. People charge what they like and if they sell them good on them. All we can do as consumers is buy it or don't. I'm a sucker for an impulse purchase and have spent way more than this on worse things trust me. 😳
