Being a Ford guy and massive 5pot lover I'm Glad the RS won but it was down to the clever traction map. What a great advert for Traction mapping it made a huge difference. Great Race lads. Would of been interested to see if both had traction off , what the outcome would be.

Always liked the old shaped Astra VXR, still look great today.

The Opel needs a longer ratio 1st and 2nd gear throw for better traction and smoother transition

Seeing a load of comments saying the Ford shouldn’t have been allowed to use the custom traction control but why? That’s all part of a good build making sure you can get that massive power down. Not sure why he should have to turn it off and therefore make his car worse just because the VXR has been left with standard traction control 🤷‍♂️ respect to both guys though, both cars are mad

great to see these cars being able to stretch their legs safely you should do some more track videos, with all the focus on straight line speed it would be good to see who can tame the power on a track

I'm a Vauxhall fanatic through and through but the RS was something else and respect to him and the way it handled the power. Also a big thumbs up to Vinnie and the concern he showed when Reece had issues. Would of loved to have seen the vxr win more than the RS but I kind of guessed being tied for power and the spec you read off about the RS I knew the vxr would be in for a hard time. Nice watch though and well done guys.

No offence to the VXR, but with a better driver I reckon it stands way more of a chance. Two absolute weapons!

That traction control map made the difference

Absolutely love the content and how you do things!!. Been a long time fan of the original top gear, but as they began to fade officially gassed has become the next best contender for car content from U.K.

I am not trying too be boring here but I can't see the point of running all that power of you can't get it on the ground. The astra especially had way more power than he could use.

Rs has an ecu function too help traction......vxr has traction fully off......🤔traction should of been off in rs too make it fair.......

That RS sounded lovely and I’ve previously been a Vauxhall man!! The traction mapping on the RS is something to behold for sure as it really worked amazingly well! Something people should invest in with a high powered car. Great battle

Those are quick 0-60 for front-wheel drive. My car is AWD and makes about 320 WHP and I managed 4.71 in the wet/ cold NY weather on all season tires. Love the channel!

Before I watched, I had my money in the VXR simply because I’ve seen modified examples destroy modified Focus ST’s and RS’s plenty of times, but this was a surprise for me! Fair play to both for a pair of monsters👍🏼😎

I think the RS sounded better imo you can’t beat sound of a 5 cylinder, I would pick the RS any day VXR’s are good but I’ve always been focus fanboy from day 1

Jamie the video was great, but I can't help but feel the battles weren't even tbh. The Focus shouldn't have been allowed to use traction control to keep it even, but even then the turbo is so big on that Astra that it takes a hell of a long time to spool up, you can see that between the gear changes, so the Focus may have ran away with it anyway. Both lads did well though, Vinnie seems like a top man you can see that as soon as he saw the Focus driver stop.

The Focus RS always was twice the car the VXR was, obviously the Astra was only to rival the Focus ST but when it’s running 500+ I guess it wasn’t totally out of the question of having a pop at that monster Reece has! Quality video as always but this one closer to my heart owning a Rabbid tuned VXR myself haha!

Kind of a not so regular viewer to the channel recently but man I love coming back to your videos for the production quality and not sure if you still do everything yourself unlike most youtubers this size. Respect to both these owners too

These two cars are absolute monsters. The SYVECS on RS is doing its thing with traction, VXR doing its best can’t knock it.

My takeaway from this? That amount of power in a FWD manual car is utterly pointless. Cars with 60% of the power are recording better performance figures.

Those VXR’s need standalone ecu’s. They just can’t put the power down well enough

Astra VXR for me so much fun factor for how much you can pick them up for and yeah the RS is awesome to bit pricey seeing as you can spend two grand on a ST and make it just as good. But yeah the RS looks is lovely and the Astra is a classic love them both but VXR for me.

I think when you have that much power in a front wheel drive car, it’s wasted. Fantastic builds both of them. But when it rains, it’ll be quicker walking lads

Is it blasphemy to say they would be faster with less power?

I think when I put real power adders on my SVT Focus, I'm gonna shoot for 225whp and no more. It has 170hp, but it could use just a little more. I'd like to be around the 6.5 0-60 range, it's at about 7 right now. For me a FWD car is all about handling and if you lose grip in the bends you'll plow off the outside of the corner. I've got some suspension and reliability mods, excited to go down the rabbit hole even more. Great race from these gents, respect to Vinny for caring about his competitor

Fairplay. Both sick cars man I have a Mk2 RS myself tbh. Syvex is very good, however Credits to Vince for controling & driving his the car without any electronic aids
