MELT Festival

MELT Festival

6 жыл бұрын

With a mix of smooth beats, unbelievable guitar riffs and a dash of soul, the London-based multi-instrumentalist Tom Misch has become a hell of a shooting star. In 2017, he brought his toe-tapping smooth beats to our living room Ferropolis as part of his first European festival run and ahead of the anticipated release of his first album, Geography.

Poor us going 2 months without a festival. Such a sacrifice. Wow. What a time. Our grandchildren likely will read in the history books about the time we went a few months without a festival just to save a few million lives.

Adam Stier It’s probably more complex than that. Likely it will be perhaps 2 years or more till there are large scale gatherings. They predict a year and a half before a vaccine and with that it’s not 100% foul proof, and many won’t get it any way. And after all is said and done in finding something to perhaps stop this virus, there are always other strands. Concert/festival producers may not take the chance or the liability. So the days of festivals and live concerts may be gone for a long while but for virtual gatherings. Cherish the ones you have attended.

@@joel_swisher i watched the entire thing (i dont like it and tbh makes me a bit angry, just watched to have arguments), and kustom denver is right, he just playing 2 chords with a fucking lot of reverb, and the "solos" are just literally sections from pentatonic scales, (wich is how solos are made, by using scales as a base for it) but he is just playing some notes in order of the scale... so im sorry to tell u that the music u love, musically speaking, has the same creativity and coordination u need to walk a chew gum at the same time

@@michaelirlesberger1692 Look, I'm not a diehard Tom Misch fan, but the reason I listen to his music isn't to scratch my ich as a musician, but as a producer. He's able to make a groove or "vibe" from very little, and delay and other fx is a good way to achieve that space. He uses it creatively in some of the songs I've heard from him. I don't get where the 2 chords are coming from still, as I hear more, but there is a lot of good music that's been made on 2 chords. Me and OP never said anything about musical prowess, and I realize he isn't the best of the best when it comes to that. But he is still able to make some good music, especially when he is able to bring in collaborative artists

His covid quarantine album is one of the best pieces of music I have heard in a long time and all done in a home studio which makes it even greater. Of course "What Kinda Music" with Youssef Dayes is also a gem.

I don’t have the thesaurus to replace words like “awesome” or “magical” to describe this guy’s music. Real Music in the age of auto tune, music-making software and mindless lyrics. He is an unappreciated gem. Of course he has Alfa Mist there as well just to round it off. The Brits are doin’ it!
