I have to comment about India, she was my sentimental favorite this year. She was bashed heavily when they crowned her and people were calling her unworthy. I never understood it because I could listen to her all day long. She had the one of the best speaking skills. She took people’s criticism, worked hard on those flaws and improved where she needed to be. Then when she arrived New Orleans a lot of people were appreciating her but there were people still doubting her. Well she proved those doubters wrong, I loved her determination. I loved her advocacy, the way she speaks. This edition we got to see girls that truly want to bring changes in society with their platforms like how reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz did with period poverty. I believe Miss Universe Org has chosen the perfect top 16 and an amazing winner. Congrats to the USA😍😍😍😍😍

totally agree with you. So proud of everyone in top 16. And high time, some countries stop bashing and shame each other and call the organisation and judges biased and all when their candidate doesn't make it. Everyone works hard.

That is the nature of pageants. If you dont enjoy judging the candidates, then you should go watch the NBA or a boxing match. Pageants are essentially about judging the girls, that is what the judges are paid to do.

Of the strongest top 16 in years. Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Portugal, Peru (I love her), Venezuela, USA, Colombia, Curaçao, Trinidad and Tobago were all amazing. They should've made a top 10, I think it would be just fair enough.

@@avas4610 Hi, I am Peruvian and that is not true, she is very sweet and humble and many people have said that when they met her in new orleans. she never had that posture of being unique snob etc keeping her distance to the others . Narcicistic is a very strong word to say without foundation and so far to the reality she really is, a lot of people in social media are hurtful I have read phrases like SHE IS NOT PERUVIAN, THE PERUVIANS ARE MONKEYS, IT IS IMPOSIBLE SHE IS FROM THERE. A lot of very ignorant people think here there is not white people here neither blond. We are mixed culture, there are black people, blond.. and so on. I can say I AM PROUD OF HER BECAUSE SHE FOUGHT AGAINST A LOT OF CRITISICIM, and during the competiion her dreeses and shoes were badly damaged and stolen. Hugs and kisses from PERU 🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪

Best top 16 in years .the pageant this year is not about how many crowds were cheering unlike other years but it is based on the intelligence and talents .plus the charity work that this woman of the universe brings on the stage

Congrats to Miss USA for winning Miss Universe, as well as to those who made the Top 16. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I find this batch of semifinalists quite weak in terms of showmanship, and that it was easy to pick the top 5 (I easily guessed the top 5 after the final swimsuit and evening gown performances). I hope MUO rethinks again about their preliminary judging criteria for the next edition. I believe that preliminary swimsuit and evening gown performances should still have considerably material weight in the scores as I would like to see the semifinalists really battle it out in the finals night. This would also give more excitement and entertainment for the viewers.

Yes, very inconsistent among candidates in top 16. Maybe they want a particular candidate to win so they make the competition easier for the obvious strong one to win!

Exactly my thoughts, Miss Universe has been the best pageant for me because of the swimsuit and evening gown. The advocacy and credentials comes second because I remember Miss Universe winners for their performance and not for their advocacy.

Agree! Only Latinas and USA are the clear frontrunners. No wonder top 16 was easily cut to top 5. This explains non inclusiveness of much performing countries being replaced by plain bland non performing countries. We could expect more of this in the new management, to easily crown winners, they must include countries who are not deserving…🥱🥱🥱 Miss Universe is going down the drain 😢

It's different now unlike before they based it in beauty, gown & swimsuit, her walk. MOU are under scrutiny from activists for exploitation of women so now changed course they like the winner with beauty, brain, hardworking , with agenda and ongoing advocacy. Miss USA fits that all.

@@lydesis Agree, but I feel that USA and others in the Top 5 just made their way easily to the top because most of the Top 16 don't seem to be near their levels somehow. They may have excelled during the interviews, but I wish that the semifinal slots would have been given to more well-rounded girls to give more excitement to the competition. Para mí este certamén esta muy raro! Habían chicas muy hermosas, con cuerpos y rostros deslumbrantes que no se clasificarón el top 16 y principalmente el top 3 podrían haber sido diferentes, con: Colombia, Peru y Puerto Rico; Colombia, Peru y Venezuela; Venezuela, Portugal y Peru Dominican Republic; Portugal y Peru; Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico y Colombia; Estaba seguro que, Paraguay, Malta, Italy, Thailand & Philippines se clasificarián para el Top 16

La competencia no se trata de quien es la más bella. Es un concurso y hay reglas. Acá muchas ejecutaron la pasarela mal. Muchas olvidaron la secuencia en cámara e hicieron cosas con la capa que no debían. Pocas tuvieron buenas ejecuciones entre ellas, Curazao y Venezuela.

@@Frankygoestohull1 mmm nope, she is not italian she is peruvian. Just her grandfather is italian, his mon and his dad are peruvians. And if you go to other parts from Perú you can find blond peruvians too like from oxapampa, Cajamarca(deparment from Perú) and the part of jungle of Cusco and other parts of Perú too, so be blond or dark hair is not the meaning to be less peruvian people. In Perú you can find black, Asian, white , all types of skin color. Just only that the Andean culture is more widespread to the world, but the true story is that Peru is a mixture of cultures that foreigners often do not know.
