She never played with Michael Jackson. She auditioned for his tour and was accepted because of her ability to play the Beat It guitar solo. Michael Jackson died before the tour got underway and she so she never played with him. She's from Australia and Eddie Van Halen definitely wasn't her teacher. Most modern guitarists use finger-tapping now. She played and toured with Alice Cooper and then Richie Sambora with whom she had a relationship. They lived together. They have now parted but remain friends.
