The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

These shows in there time showed us how we seemed to think a certain way about people who were not the same color as us. Isn't it funny how we seem to think negative about the people who are not the same color as us. You can't believe everything that you hear about someone until you meet them for yourself.

Allan Drake's real life wife, Janice, was murdered in a mob hit back in 1959. She was having affairs with big shot mob guys. One of which was Anthony Carfano (aka little augie pissano). Which helped Allan's comedian career. He found himself booked for the best nightclubs nationwide. But then Janice got murdered and he found that he couldn't get bookings in such nice places anymore. Janice wasn't the target. She just happened to be in the wrong place (alongside Little Augie in his car), at the wrong time and the hit man didn't want to leave a living eyewitness.
