I am here at Apey Kade in LA, where the owners are blessing me with some spicy beef kottu. The owner is a pleasure to be around and has this infectious and bubbly personality that makes eating here feel at home. Plus, he told me that everything in Sri Lanka is spicier due to the richness of the soil where the peppers grow, and I can agree.

Sri Lankan food is my favorite cuisine. Wish we had that here in Hawaii. My college roommate and friend was Sri Lankan and our home always smelt like spices. The island is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and I’m from Hawaii

Couple years ago my wife and I went to an Indian restaurant and I ordered a spicy chicken curry with coconut sauce and boy that food was good but very spicy, could not finish it. 🤣😂 Took the rest home. Indian food has lots of flavors and you can have it spicy or not spicy. It's always good to try different foods from different cultures instead of eating the same foods everyday, it gets stagnant or boring.
