Right? My max deadlift at the end of highschool was 600lbs and I could only manage a little over a full minute on holding it in the air. I could barely begin to imagine holdig that weight up for as long as they have.

Should be a longer bar so the athletes can’t rest the hands against the thighs. That’s why the BACK gave out before the grip, it’s not a grip exercise when the hands are on your thighs locking them.

I think that massively overcomplicates things. And resting the bar on your thigh is a test of what? How fat your thighs are? The event was great as is.

Yes, resting your hands against your legs helps... but it is still most definitely a grip event. He said his back gave out before his grip because his grip is just that good, not because it wasn't a grip event.

Have you ever lifted heavy weight? Above bar grips are extremely difficult to keep, and your grip strength definitely can make it easier or harder.

A solid steel ball 1m diameter would weigh 4110kg, not 260kg, so this is 93.6% air inside. It wouldn't be very good as a wrecking ball!
