It was established in Paul's first episode that his family has a history of acute depression, and his mother hanged herself, and his uncle ended up sectioned, so it was only a matter of time before depression hit Paul himself.

Literally, Paul's backstory of familial acute depression must have taken a huge toll on him. Being called selfish and spoiled right to his face is just such a horrible thing to do. I love Paul he deserved so much better 🤍

It's a shame all these characters never got a fourth season of WR, just this short set of webisodes. Tom Milner (Paul) said in an interview that they were going to get a fourth season, but then the makers of the show decided to move onto all new characters.

I would think anyone would go off the rails after a military tour in Afghanistan goes wrong, it was PTSD, and it was perfectly understandable for Bolton to act like that. What gets me is, Paul also applied for the Army, but they turned him down, as I believe they thought he couldn't cut it there. Judging by this, if he's suicidal after being dumped by his girlfriend, then it won't take much to push him over the edge. Poor Paul :(
