I have the Square Terminal and retails for $299. It also has an offline mode. We have an auction once a year and everyone seems to rush me all at once and bam, the internet goes down with 30 plus people in line! Setting up the terminal I found out the transaction limit is $50,000 per transaction. This will help the process go faster, plus the terminal gives out paper receipts.

"It's pretty cool" but actually it can cost you real money if you make a sale somewhere where there is no service, come home, connect to the Internet, and find one or several transactions have been declined!

Thank you SO much for your easy to follow explanation for using the Square card reader in "Offline" mode. I have been stressing about how to do this for an upcoming Craft show. I feel confident about using the Square reader now.

What happens if there is no money in the account or credit card maxed? Do those still get paid?

On off line I was unable to swipe cards with reader. The work bar not available to use. How to fix thanks much.

Why my Square account got deactivated?? Square sent me an email saying that I violated section 35 payment terms and therefore they deactivated my account. I only charged around $8k within. 3/4 days(each time $700-$3500)

Thanks. I would have liked to have seen an actual transaction in the offline mode. I'm not sure what is supposed to happen - when I try it, nothing happens, which seems wrong.

Did you ever sort this out at all? I have a reader and still can't accept any kind of card on offline mode? TIA
