you can see that BOD will never forgive warren for ending his lions career despite him starting his ireland carrer lol.

On a later off the ball, Eddie denies all of this. I think they also said that Lenihan has denied this is what he told Gatland.

Of course he denies it but everyone that knows Eddie knows it’s true.

Confirms what I always suspected of Eddie to be honest. Sneaky and underhanded. Remember him doing press as assistant coach at the time and thinking there was something very slippery about him. He achieved very little with the best Irish squad we've ever had. Was gutted when Gatland left he would have achieved much more I feel.

It wasn't little at the time. We hadn't won a triple crown in decades and he won a few. Played some very good rugby, particularly in the Autumn of '06, when we beat the Saffers and Aussies, a really big deal back then. We had hardly ever done it and never playing running rugby. The '07 nightmare more or less ended his career as a coach. He tipped around a bit after that but no one really wanted him.

Inconvenientx Our squad at that time was embarrassingly good. Easily had 2 or 3 grand slams in them, we didn't even win a single championship. The Munster pack were dominating Europe and the Leinster backline was phenomenal. Our provinces have weakened since he left but we've won a number championships. A good coach with that team would have cleaned up.

I agree about Gatland, look what he's done with Wales since he got that job. i'm sorry but for the players he had to pick from O'Sullivan failed with Ireland. i'm not discrediting triple Crowns as they are nice to win but the Ireland side of around 04-08 should've had at least two Grand Slams in them with the quality they had. also the 07 World Cup was a complete disaster. this Ireland side now isn't as good but they have beaten NZ for the 1st time ever, won two Six Nations championships and have won on SA soil for the 1st time in history, with 14 men. the only thing that Schmidt needs to nail is the world cup, with the group Ireland have they should be reaching the semis in Japan.

Doesn't confirm anything. What if Gatland is lying?

I think Eddie O' Sullivan did wonders for Ireland and was the first real professional coach. Luck plays a part in sport and Kidney got lucky on the foundations of what O' Sullivan had laid for the Grand Slam. I would recommend O' Sullivans biography "Never Die Wondering", which shows an ambitious and yet humble guy.

Oh dear, I thought he was a proper bloke, I was wrong.

Not surprised, always thought of Eddie as a bit of a weasel. No Irish province will touch him since Ireland dumped him. Good analyst though

If it's true what's your issue? Maybe it's O'Sullivan that's the bitter old man tbh. The one who's says I respect you more if you say it too my face but then proceeds to sew seeds with all and sundry. What does Gatland have to be bitter about so who's the bitter one???
