ABOUT ME
- I'm Cambodian and Chinese.
- I was born in November of 1983 and raised in Houston, although my heart lays in between Houston and Hawaii.
- "OG KPOP STAN": I've always used the term "OG" (supposedly "original gangster") to define being old-school, and I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Kpop was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in my younger years and it's just stuck by me ever since. Also! Just to be clear: me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" doesn't mean that anyone who's listened to kpop later than me is inferior. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time.😄
- I was a hiphop dancer for about 7 years. I did the whole crew thing, auditioning thing, competition thing, choreography thing, dance instructor thing, so I have some experience in that field and I hope to be able to share some perspective from my experiences for y'all to see the extra things that I appreciate about a video when I point them out.
- My videos can have quite a lot of cuts in editing and/or my eyes will unnaturally blink rapidly sometimes. This is because of my neurological disease that came with my lupus nephritis (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome). My thinking abilities and speaking abilities struggle to align at times.
- Yes, that's Jack Sparrow's ring that I always wear in my videos. I've been a Pirates of the Caribbean fan ever since I rode the ride for the first time ever in Disneyland when I was a kid.🤓

It's crazy to think how young Heejin is in Vivid (16) because she didn't have any members to bond with and fall back on or any older idols that already debuted with Blockberry because there weren't any, she must hae been so scared

Also when Heejin first debuted in 2016, she was the worst-selling female artist in korea with only 600 albums sold. Only 10 people came to her fansign.It's crazy how strong she is in the beginning of her career.Glad now she's doing well and still can hold on....thats why Loona is one of my favs gg❤thanks BBC for creating LOONA

sadly, loona didn't get the recognition and hype they deserved back when they were just starting out due to them being from an unknown company but that didn't deter them from producing more quality content so I'm really looking forward to seeing you react to the other solos because they they are all amazing

Let's be honest, the group was straight-up sabotaged by the established k-pop industry at every possible opportunity during their pre-debut, they were far too good too fast and the big mgmt companies decided to make an example of them lest anyone else think about going independent. Had any of the "popular" girl groups put out the songs Loona did they would have had 100 million+ views by now.

Some loona's solos don't have their own dance practice, just there are some fancams when they showcased their solos at loonabirth/loonaverse concerts. This is the case of Olivia's for example, there's no a dance practice for her solo, but orbits uploaded some fancams of her on stage

The reality was not much attention was given back then when Heejin debut. I started following their Predebut era few days after her MV was uploaded. Main reasons like they were new company so they had to build their fanbase have been mentioned. Another reason was their Creative Director at the time had an different approach to Kpop marketing that he wanted Loona to be promoted more like underground artists rather than Kpop Idols which impacted hers and other earlier members debut reach and sales. I remember the day they upload a video of Heejin thanking for 100k views of ViViD MV and they release the dance practice if and when it reached 200 or 300k views. In December 2016 it reached the goal and they uploaded it.

heejin, loona’s first girl, really demonstrated the star power and potential loona were gonna have with each member being unique and great in vocal and dance. there’s also a posted video of her singing vivid acoustically, completely just her voice and her playing guitar that really impressed people too. loved this reaction and excited for you to see all the colors of the other girls and their solos and whether or not you connect more with another member or officially become a heejin bias haha

What is really amazing about Heejin's voice here is at the time of this song's release she was just 15 years old. Amazing talent at a very young age. BTW she celebrated her 16th birthday 2 weeks later.

So, her voice...I think it sounds so good and her glissando (when she slides her voice up and down you were talking about) is so good bc her head voice is really good BUT her natural speaking voice is SO LOW and gravelly almost (which is a trip to see bc its this deep nick Nolte like voice in this tiny super cute body). Her natural speaking voice gives the lower end of her slides that gravelly pinch that makes it sound so good

Most of loona's solos don't have official dance practices or choreo verison of the mvs. If you want to see the choreos I recommend you watch the fancams from the loonabirth concert. They are definitely worth watching

Firstly, as a Heejinstan, i would like to thank you for making this video. The way you are appricating this makes me so happy and proud. Secondly, you really made me remember when i watched ViVid the first time. Everything is so magical, the image, the detail, and Heejin. Her voice is just a charm. Her visual is so wonderful. It made me become a Heejinstan at that time. And unfortunately, i saw many comments say that ViVid is their least favorite in Loona's solo. Therefore, when you are hyped about ViVid, i think maybe i'm the happiest person in the world 🤣🤣🤣. When you said solo power i was like Yuuup. Heeji is Loona's all arounder, she gets the commercials with her visuals, lead dancer etc which is why she usually starts off all of their songs.

I just wanna say since Loona has different kind of genres that is specially showcased in their predebut project (the solos) I'm hoping you would react to it open mindly coz' it got a lot of variety of music, you would across ballad, theatre worth music, melancholy rythm, 80's/90's vibe, electronic pop, cutie and hoppy tune, sexy melodic, girl crush banging and a lot more that orbits kinda protests on what genre is best for Loona but for me honestly, they own it all, I'm glad Loona exist that the fact I could jam to a lot of genres in one artist/group is amazing, I appreciate all Loona songs that fits every of my mood swings on my everyday life and I thank you that you consider to react to Loona's whole discography 😉😊👍💖

Next is hyunjin's "around you" its better to rect to a live performance of it qs it shows more of her vocal technique. Its a ballad song and the music video doesn't not really showcase the full somg or her talents but rather used as a trailer to introduce her when she was added to the formation as second. Very unique and sweet voice as well as underrated. Afterwords would be haseul's music video which is stunning and shows her clear vibrato

Ahhhh I’m so happy you’re reacting to all of Loona’s stuff! Warning- the next few songs of theirs are pretty low key (still amazing musically) but they aren’t super dance-y with choreography- the next choreography intensive song you’ll get to is Love & Live and then Eclipse, but then pretty much everything after eclipse all has choreo and is all beautiful

To put a little more sense in the MV: As Heejin is the first Member to have a solo song she is considered the creator of the Loonaverse, a huge storyline hidden in all Loona MVs which is definetly worth checking out and wants to bring color in the world. Love your reactions and would for sure recommend checking out all Loona solos, they're very unique, different and awesome (next would be hyunjin and haseul, which I think you would like especially if you're a orchestra person)

if you want choreo for all the solos you should watch fancams for the ones that dont have a dance practise

some of the girls unfortunately don't have dance practice videos of their solos so I recommend reacting to fancams from their concerts instead. (an example would be olivia hye's live performance of her solo "Egoist" during their LOONAVERSE concert)

I dont want to judge but Try Watching every loona Solo (and The Sub unit stuff if you have the time), They Are a real Interesting Journey to Listen to Everything, Loona is a Super interesting Group (Music And Lore) As i finish this Comment i Hope you will be able to Enjoy the Journey being Called Loona

yeah the choreographies aren't as hard before, I think they were only able to play with the choreography more after their debut. Let's think of the pre-debut as them exploring types and genres of choreographies and singing.

In the beginning.... This is where Loona started. FUN FACT: First 3 members (Heejin, Hyunjin, & Haseul) auditioned for YG's MIXNINE Competition show, while forming Loona. The winner of that show was Ryunjin from ITZY.
