A very buffalo gals reaction 🦬👧👧🏽👧🏿! Buffalo Gals was released as the lead single from Malcolm McLaren's 1983 album: Duck Rock. It was written by Anne Dudley, Trevor Horn and Malcolm McLaren. It was produced by Trevor Horn and Malcolm McLaren. It sampled: Buffalo Boy Go 'Round The Outside by Traditional Folk (1800), Zulu's On A Time Bomb by Malcolm McLaren (1982) and She's Looking Like A Hobo by Malcolm McLaren ft World's Famous Supreme Team (1982). The song reached #33 on the Dance chart and #9 on the UK Singles chart. The music video was directed by Malcolm McLaren and features The Rock Steady Crew. This music video is back when breakdancing was fresh and new on the music and street scene. This song was groundbreaking because it helped introduce England to Hip-Hop culture. The music video showed Breakdancing as well as Rapping, DJ scratching and Graffiti. In the 1984 BBC documentary: Beat This! - A Hip Hop History, Malcolm McLaren explains that he was in New York City looking for a support act for his group Bow Wow Wow when he went to an outdoor concert (known as a "Block Party") held by by Afrika Bambaataa And The Zulu Nation. This is where he was exposed to Hip-Hop for the first time and discovered the scratching technique he would use on this song. Neneh Cherry's song: Buffalo Stance (1989), sampled this song. Other artists to sample this song include: Public Enemy, Mac Dre, Busta Rhymes, X Clan, Missy Elliott, De La Soul, Hanson, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, J Cole, Dr Dre, Skee-Lo, Kanye West, Tisha Campbell, Das EXX, The Roots, KRS ONE, Alicia Keys, Beastie Boys, Main Source, Pete Rock, Madlib, Del The Funky Homosapien and many more. Malcolm McLaren Info 📰: Malcolm McLaren was born on January 22, 1946 in Stoke Newington, London, England. He passed away on April 8, 2010 in Bellinzona, Ticino, Switzerland. He was a visual artist, singer, actor, impresario, songwriter, musician, clothes designer and boutique owner, who combined these activities in an inventive and provocative way. He promoted and managed the bands: New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols and Bow Wow Wow. He has collaborated with many artists including: De La Soul, Rakim, Beck, KRS ONE, Bootsy Collins, Yanni, The World's Famous Supreme Team and more. His discography consists of eight studio albums, one compilation, one remix album, two soundtracks, two extended plays and eighteen singles. Malcolm McLaren was brought up by his grandmother after his father, Peter, left the family home, and attended a number of British art colleges and adopted the stance of the social rebel in the style of French revolutionaries the Situationists. Malcolm McLaren realized that a new protest style was needed for the 1970s, and involved himself in the Punk music movement, for which he supplied fashions from the Chelsea boutique SEX, which he operated with girlfriend Vivienne Westwood. After a period advising the band New York Dolls in the U.S., Malcolm McLaren managed The Sex Pistols, for which he recruited the nihilistic frontman Johnny Rotten. The issue of a controversial record: "God Save The Queen", satirizing the Queen's Jubilee in 1977, was typical of Malcolm McLaren's shock tactics, and he gained publicity by being arrested after a promotional boat trip outside the Houses of Parliament. Malcolm McLaren performed with acclaim as a solo artist, initially focusing on Hip-Hop and World music and later diversifying into Funk and Disco, the dance fashion for "voguing" and merging Opera with contemporary Electronic musical forms. When accused of turning popular culture into a cheap marketing gimmick, he joked that he hoped it was true. His first album: Duck Rock, was certified silver in the UK and spawned 2 top-10 singles: "Buffalo Gals" and "Double Dutch". "The South Bank Show: Malcolm McLaren" was first broadcast on British regional channel London Weekend Television on December 8, 1984.Directed by Andy Harries and introduced by Melvyn Bragg (who noted that Malcolm McLaren had been described as the "Diaghilev of punk"), the film hinged on Malcolm McLaren recording tracks in America for his album: Fans, and investigated his upbringing, art school years, and work with the New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols, Bow Wow Wow and others. Contributors included Sex Pistol Steve Jones, Boy George and Adam Ant. In 2006, Malcolm McLaren presented the documentary series: Malcolm McLaren's Musical Map Of London, for BBC Radio 2, followed in 2007 by the documentary: Malcolm McLaren's Life And Times In L.A. In his later years, he lived in Paris and New York City. He was diagnosed with the stomach cancer Peritoneal Mesothelioma in October 2009, and and passed away from peritoneal mesothelioma in a Swiss hospital on April 8, 2010 in a hospital in Switzerland. Malcolm McLaren's last words were said by his son Joseph Corré to have been: "Free Leonard Peltier". Malcolm McLaren's body was buried in Highgate Cemetery, North London, to the sounds of the Sid Vicious version of the Frank Sinitra song: "My Way". In April 2013, a headstone was placed on Malcolm McLaren's grave featuring the slogan: "Better a spectacular failure, than a benign success", a paraphrasing of Malcom McLaren's claim that the best advice he received came from an art-school teacher: "It is better to be a flamboyant failure than any kind of benign success". The posthumous documentaries: "Malcolm McLaren: Artful Dodger" (2010) and "Malcolm McLaren: Spectacular Failure" (2020) have been produced on his life.
