i love how you love all three of the protags! cracking up at you cracking up at the ghoul’s quips was so fun. and i love listening to you talk abt maximus, he’s such an interesting character, i love how he fills this space between the type of people that lucy and the ghoul are

yea those are stimpaks that Lucy used and what the Ghoul used on the dog. Sort of like a cure all for almost any ailment that you get in the game. 🙂 The game is very fun; this show really did well with having easter eggs for us that played it but also for having it where someone that knows nothing about the games can still enjoy the show.

The mixture of absolutely exaggerated violence and dark humor doesn't appeal to everyone, but it fits so well into this post-nuclear world. The soundtrack of the games creates a lot of the atmosphere and is perfectly implemented in the show and I agree with you, Aron Moten plays maximus so brilliantly and on top he looks like a young denzel.

the way the stories, the three individual ones (mostly Lucy and Ghoul's prewar context), are a slow burn to the point that some of the very first questions someone will have from ep one don't get semblance of an answer until literally the last ep is so masterfully done (IMO). like some times slow burners can feel so clunky and sometimes seem like details squeezed in last minute in editing to attempt to build tension and suspense, but for me personally, the way they wrote this season out was so perfectly thought out and made the whole ride smooth for me (though admititdly the dates did mess me up and trying to keep up with the them and trying to remember what year the present was but that is entirely a personal problem of mine when it comes to numbers, but even without fully understanding what they were trying to portray with dates, it still flowed so seamlessly in all the other parts of the storytelling). im so happy a season 2 has been approved I cannot wait to see what they do with what they left off on and im hella curious to hear her opinions about it once she reaches the end as someone who has no idea about the fallout world prior to watching vs me who has played the fallout games starting at fallout3 and am fairly familiar with the world and lore (tho not all of it i know enough to really love and appreciate what they did with this show)

I feel like to best describe Max is he is a pure opportunist, rarely take the initiative, but he will gladly take the opportunity to let something happen that he had not done himself. it sets up a perfect character growth story where we see him change through these 8 eps, with his opportunistic, almost vulture-like, tendencies we see now vs what he slowly grows into later. I personally love Max's character story and all his flaws along with his growth because even how far he comes by the end, he is still so far from perfect too and I love that he wasn't written to hop up the ranks of maturity all within these 8 eps alone and shows he still has a long way to go. Change like that doesn't happen overnight, or over a week or few months, its a life long commitment of living, making mistakes and learning from them, continuously striving to be better each day until that person has no more days to live. The Ghoul himself is probably the most perfect example of this since the man has lived for over 200 years and he is still growing and learning as an individual. The true reality of growth IMO. Max is a pretty solid blatant example of real-life growth, while the Ghoul stands as the constant reminder that it never ends for as long as you are alive and living in a world that is continuously changing and growing, for better or worst. Lucy also is written so beautifully as the adaptor, she adapts as needed to survive and that I would assume being in her shoes, that she is a pretty accurate depiction of that instinct to adapt to the new reality instead of fight it and try to remain in the past (I also love how the writers played with that irony too yanno, considering her father and the lore of her vault and what not) over all, IMO, beautiful real life themes written perfectly in a perfectly flawed universe.

When the Ghoul killed the dog (for a bit) dude Immediately went on my bad list from one of my favorites. And then he fixed the dog so he’s back on my top character list 😅

I know this show has gotten a lot of praise and love but I just couldn't do it 🙃😩 I really wanted to though to see Ella Purnell's performance. I'm kind of a baby when it comes to gore which is so ironic considering I have no problem hearing about it in all the true crime I consume 😅 So thanks for checking it out cause at least now I get an idea of what all the hype is about without feeling too squirmy!!! 🤗💗
