He did not miss a beat! Got right back up and handled his business like a pro. His back-bend was everything! Many can learn from this moment. Life will trip you up at times and make you fall but getting up and handling your business will determine your success or failure.

For how I much I saw Austin practice during summer sessions. I can guarrantee that there was gasoline poured on the fire beneath him during that moment. He already had huge drive but I know he will make sure to never mess up anything ever again if he can help it.

This drum major is a god damn BOSS! Shit happens. I seen plenty of my fellow marching band members fall down at MSU. He got right back up and apparently it was an awesome pregame. Good for him. And now, he has an excellent story to tell in his old age. Lol.

I mean, "Best Damn Band in the Land" - based on what exactly? Is there some national championship of marching bands? It's strictly based on someone's claim with no support and no competition to prove otherwise. The rationale must be - the more it is said, the more it becomes true? Of course, this doesn't even get into the hazing of new band members and the sexual culture promoted Jonathan Waters. in the past. Anyhow, with bold claims come great responsibility.

@@jackrutherford-1 Thank you for the correction, I’ll go ahead and fix it. While I’m still upset at the situation, I will admit that you made me laugh by saying you hate the egos of the fans. I get annoyed with OSU fans a lot and have stood by silently for so long. But nevertheless, the nickname TBDBITL is just some harmless nickname coined by Woody Hayes, and so they stuck with it. It’s the same thing as WCU Marching Band calling themselves “The baddest band in the land,” or the University of Arkansas Razorback Marching Band being referred to as “The best in sight and sound.” So on and so forth. Sure, maybe OSU has taken the nickname a little bit too serious, and it has been perpetuated by the members and fans more than enough, but the confidence of a lot of big 10 marching bands walk a fine line between confidence and arrogance. It’s not limited to just Pride of the Buckeyes. Still, my point stands that Austin Bowman doesn’t deserve the heckling and borderline jeering that he’s getting. He didn’t coin the term TBDBITL, he can’t help the pretentious disposition of the band, football team, students, fans, and whoever else. Yeah, he’s head drum major and did audition for his role, but objectively speaking, TBDBITL is an outstanding marching band (there are certainly a lot worse marching bands out there), So why wouldn’t he want to audition to have such a performance opportunity? He definitely doesn’t deserve the crap he’s getting thrown at him right now by practically anyone, much less by full grown adults.

No. Actually it was a moment in time for one member of the band. Why brush the entire band with one stroke because of one member's accident - which could happen to anyone. It's safe to say this drum major - on his worse day - is probably 20 times better than you on your best.

Hey, Bolshoi's Ballet's premier danseur, (awesome athlete) Vladimir Vasilieve "Tour jete'ed" himself off the stage of the Royal Opera House - can happen to the greatest. They put everything into their work, but sometimes over rehearse and sometimes forget to check themselves... main thing, he got up and kept going... any critics out there? I suggest you try that run and high kick whatever it's called. I'm still working on it, haha. Tain't easy!
