Fun fact: the heavy breakdown was originated from a local Japanese folklore song called "Sakura Sakura". It's kinda badass how they turn their culture song into a metal moshpit. And Megitsune means "Female Fox" so basically this song is the whole definition of Babymetal -their style, their genre, their culture and their lore as a band.

Good one - this is arguably the perfect BABYMETAL song - lots of Japanese cultural references, great vocals from Su, lots of audience participation with Yui's and Moa's chants and choreo, great tune and instrumentals, one of the best breakdowns ... it's just so good in every conceivable way. 'Megitsune' means female fox/vixen. Japanese mythology has foxes (kitsune) able to shape shift to appear human in order to deceive, this song is about how women over the centuries have worn their make up and hidden their true feelings behind the mask, not to deceive but to please and to charm and to keep everybody happy, so they are not kitsune, they are actresses. The breakdown uses the melody form a very old and very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). When Su pulled the tanto (short blade) from her microphone (she was using that mic for the whole video) she said "Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated". This is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie spoken by the daughter of a gang boss. The video was filmed at a shrine in a park in Tokyo used for traditional music festivals and now a place of pilgrimage for BABYMETAL fans visiting Tokyo - and yes the steps/corridor you recognised is in Kyoto. 'Megitsune' regularly tops fan polls for favourite song and has been played live more than any other of their songs, it is still a regular feature in most of their live sets. This video is usually safe from being blocked, but we all understand why you were pausing. Generally the older live videos are safe (Legend 1997, Budokan and earlier), it is the stuff from after that which is most at risk.

BABYMETAL fans are definitely use to the pauses, so don't worry about it bothering us. BUT I can see how annoying it is from your side. I think you should really consider doing "link & sync" as well as a Reactorhub link for mobile users. Funny you mentioned about circle pits...Megitsune brings about the most insane Babymetal circle pits - especially after that breakdown - you gotta check live fancam videos like those in London or Paris...or even better watch the Dailymotion video of them singing Megitsune in Metrorock 2015, whipping the crowd into pure batshit level insanity. It's one of the most hype Babymetal performances on KZfaq, and it was performed just before Babymetal Death so expect the same massive atmosphere. Great reaction, one of the best Babymetal songs there is. You should check out Sis. Anger (live version) it's really heavy, and it's Black Babymetal song, meaning no Su, only Yui and Moa singing. Or then do Su solo song, No Rain No Rainbow, it's a beautiful ballad but it might be heavily copyrighted so like most reactors it needs to be uploaded to Vimeo or something like that. The "band" in the background are dancers from the troupe of the woman dancing in the interlude/breakdown. And the costumes changed to a more mature style about 2 years ago. But you can't react to anything newer than 2016 on KZfaq, except for the few music videos on their official channel and even these are getting blocked more often than their earlier live stuff on other channels. To answer your age question: Suzuka was 15 (born Dec 1997), Moa (born Jul 1999) and Yui (born Jun 1999) were a few days short of being 14 when the single and video was released.

Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. Music Videos of this Era Distortion Starlight The Current Era (Metal Galaxy) The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3 member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. Yeah sadly Babymetal gets blocked a lot. Pausing and altering the video is all you can do, us fans are used to it. Don't sweat it too much. Before I comment on the actual reaction I wanted to mention that the quality of the video and the post edits are really good on this one. I don't know if you are using a new camera but it's super clean. Audio is consistently good with your videos. Very nice work on the production on your end. Super happy you are digging Babymetal. I fell in love with this band in 2018. Saw them live in Orlando in 2019. They rock the house. My favorite official music video is Karate but another very cool one is Distortion. Completely different than anything else you have seen from Babymetal and another banger song. I highly recommend Distortion official mv. Please keep the Babymetal and Band-Maid coming! These bands are my obsession for the last couple of years. Thanks man.

Pausing. That's just a way for you "reactors" to get around the main problem, that no one seems to get or understand. The fact that you are watching this video once and reacting to it. One view. Then the reactor gets 3-50k views. The original video still only has one view, while your video has the 3-50k views. You see the problem here? Even if you put the link to the original video in the description below, that is by far no guarantee that anyone will watch it. But blocking people from doing this, and therefore forcing them to just watch the original is in their favor. Even if they only get half the views you did. Because again, people watching this only gave them a single view, from you and none from any of your fans. Any software engineers out there that can create a plugin type thing for youtube that makes it so anytime you watch a reactors video, it actually plays or "views" the original every time it's played? That would be the basic solution at this point, I think.

Great reaction, glad You had fun listening to the song. This is my top 3 (arguably all time favourite) BM songs. 2 things though: 1. Band here is not real either and 2. I share Your sentiment with seeing girls (especially Suzuka) in traditional clothes. I would love new BABYMETAL song with similar japanese theme in traditional clothes and lose hair (they probably stick to one hair style in order to differentiate from their everyday life and to retain some form of privacy).
