Anyone who has just been diagnosed will really be able to benefit from this. 💙💪 You've found a really wonderful way to use this experience to create something helpful for others. Keep it up! Even as someone who isn't a cancer patient (at least not right now), I found this really interesting and learned about a lot of stuff I had been clueless about before. I knew what magic mouthwash was though! I mixed so many of those compounds when I was a pharmacy tech 😂 Lidocaine, diphenhydramine, antacid, and nystatin! I'll never forget the recipe haha

Hey! I was actually encouraged against using picc lines or ports because I’m young and have very Low fat percentage so my veines were clear. I’d say from my experience the chemo definitely hardens your veines and makes them darker. I’m currently cancer free but still have 3 more treatments to make sure I don’t relapse. I’ve only got 4-5 available veines left for IV so yea definitely did damage but in my opinion it’s a better option than living with a port or picc for 6 months. Plus veines only take a few weeks/months to recover.

For my type of chemo it can actually burn your skin inside if it leaks out and cause lots of damage. I also have a lot of scar tissue from blood draws and like 3 infusions of Brentuximab. It is definitely all a personal decision

As someone who has gone through Hodgkins Lymphoma twice in the last 4 years, I'm very happy with the port. I absolutely hate needles and the arm. The port is awesome for not only chemo infusion but blood draws. I was hoping that my port could be used for my stem cell transplant but I cant. I get a nifty little catheter on the opposite side of my port. 🤣

In 1982 I was “megadosed” w/ radiation for Stage 2 Hodgkins. I was diagnosed at 18 but was 19 during most of the treatments. I’m 58 now. The radiation caused some long-term heart damage, among other things. An oncologist recently told me they don’t give that much radiation anymore bc it’s more toxic than chemo (that’s likely why you got chemo for stage 2). From what you say, chemo doesn’t sound much better than the radiation I got. ***Make sure you see a cardio-oncologist if you don’t already. You need cardiac echoes to make sure your heart is tolerating/tolerated the chemo ok. Same if you get radiation. Follow up routinely with heart doctor. I hope you’re doing ok🙏🌸

Thank you for posting this and I hope you are doing ok now. Did you feel nauseous after your first treatment? Do the side effects get worse the more you go? I am stage 4 cHL and did my first ABVD yesterday. So far no nausea, just wondering if I should expect it to hit me soon or after my next few treatments.
@ohyouresotough0

Yes I had nausea and the effects are cumulative so they do tend to get worse

Any wig brand recommendations? Or false eye lash and eye brow solutions?
@ohyouresotough0
@ohyouresotough0 2 жыл бұрын
Wigs & Wishes will give you a free wig which is awesome. I like Raquel Welch brand - I always got mine off a site called "Cyster Wigs". Also I would suggest getting your brows microbladed if possible prior to starting chemo. If not, I like the anastasia brow definer. For eyelashes, some use the individual "wispy" lashes to sort of fill in but I never bothered.
