I have a 2022 KX450 so nothing needs to fixed or replaced as of yet, but I’m sure I’ll be coming to your channel for tips. I also have a 2021 YZ250 2 stroke so I’ll search your channel for any how to’s. I search KZfaq for a lot of how to’s and seriously you have the best in depth instructions. I’m a little anal with torque specs and you’re the only one that includes them. Love your videos man…thank you!!

You mentioned not to lose the spring when removing the filter. I assume the spring goes on the outside of the filter?

The spring connects to the inside of the filter cover. I regret not getting a good shot of that but you can briefly see it when I pull the cover off.

What happens if I add 2 quarts to the oil change ? I’m new to this, dealer gave me two bottles (each 1qt ) and I drained the oil and drained filter and just added both bottles. Will this harm anything or do I need to drain a certain amount ?

Do not run the engine with 2 quarts of oil in it. Too much oil is just as bad as not enough oil because it will interfere with the internal moving parts, causing the oil to foam up. Only run the specified amount of oil for your bike. If you have a clean container, you could drain all the oil into it and refill with the correct amount.

I just recently changed the oil on my KX450 that I just purchased the Crush Washer that I got was a little too big did not set flush on the bolt will this cause it to leak?????? I think it's a pretty silly question but meaning it seems very likely that it would but tight is tight so I'm not 100% it is tight.. but now my bike is leaking oil who thinks it's the Crush Washer? ???????

The link to the service kit is for a KX 250F is it the same one for a 450?

The bike takes 1.2 quarts but the kit only comes with 1 quart?

the bike takes more then a quart. I know it says 1 qt but i always have to put like 1.2.

Why didn't you clean the oil screen and or check it and make sure its clean of any particles? I think its very important!!

There is no mention of an oil screen in the service manual. On other motorcycles I've had, the oil screen is something that very rarely needs to be checked but I'll take a closer look next time the bike is here.
